COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Here’s Lookin’ Atcha’!"

Laying there, staring up at the ceiling, head pounding, last night was a dim recollection. How did he get home? Was he alone? Looking to the left and right, the answer was yes, maybe. His head was full of ’rag water, bitters, and the blue ruin’.His teeth felt like he’d been chewing aluminum and his breath smelled like a burning tractor tire. There was a wrenching knot somewhere between his liver and East St. Louis and he couldn’t be sure whether or not he’d wet himself. A yellow sine wave rang in his ears so loud nit made his teeth itch and he was sure that if he touched his skin anywhere it would induce a rhythmic retching jag. Even in the face of all that, he found himself smiling at the realization that today represented the fresh breast of a new year- an undiscovered country- and also there was still one warm, half-full, flat redolent Hairy Eyeball on the nightstand. Yes-there is a God.

On tap at While Foods, it’s clear & brown, it has a sweet doughy smell, the flavor is sweet malted barley with a hint of citrus hops.

Tap. Pours a deep, dark red with a fine head. Strong malt flavors with apparent alcohol. A tad too sweet for my tastes.

Updated 4/20/10- Grabbed a single of this again to sample, as the first time was a couple years ago while camping so memory was a little foggy. Not as dark as originally thought, but still sort of strong for a brown ale. Not as heavy as originally thought, but still fills you up. Good balance between the malts and hops here, but leaning on the malty side. I will definitly try this again I’m sure, but prefer their IPA and red ales.............................................. is a dark, heavy, strong beer. The color is a dark brown, slight amber, with a decent amount of carbonation which gives it a strong head. I found the balance between malts and hops to be a bit on the bitter side. I appreciated the flavors and wanted to try something a bit different, but not sure if it worked enough for me to retry. A good beer to split with a buddy to sample. An entire 12oz. was just a bit too heavy/bitter for me though. I needed to chase it down with something lighter.

Bomber - nose is candy sugar. Sip adds dark fruit and slight grass. It’s somewhere between a belgian strong and a barleywine. Strong! Flat.

Pours clear amber-brown with three fingers of light tan head, excellent retention and lacing. (5/5) Nose is toffee malt, brown sugar, dark slightly boozy stone fruit, mild pine resin. (7/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderate bitter, mild peppery spice. (7/10) Medium slightly creamy body, moderate carbonation, lingering bitter and mild spicy finish. (4/5) Surprisingly smooth and light for a beefy ABV. I keep thinking there’s rye in there because of the little spice kick, but it doesn’t appear that there is. An interesting deep and rich malty brew. I’m not generally a fan of malty, but this works pretty well. Not sure I’d shave my eyeballs for it, but... (15/20)

AgentAle (939) - Alberta, CANADA - MAR 31, 2015
Aroma is rich roasty caramel malts with honey, brown sugar and a subtle but nice hop aroma of clove and lemon grass. Taste is deep rich malts with toffee and caramel flavors. Quite creamy mouthfeel. Transitions into a well balanced hop profile that is just complex enough to enjoy thoroughly. Appearance is a clear dark amber with a thin beige head that retains somewhat well.

Not sure what to think about this. Sweet yet bitter. Not what i would call balanced though. It’s more like they are clashing flavors instead of them working together to create one unified taste. Soft smooth mouth feel but leaves a dry stickiness in the mouth that i can not say i admire. For the price (@$5.00) it’s a decent beer. Just not something that would come to mind if i was asked to make a recommendation.

Bottle - small foamy head, very dark Amber color, strong balanced aroma and flavor, deep caramel malt and fruity hops, smooth finish with a fair amount of alcohol notes, almost reminds me of a barleywine, very good overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
