Light brown, clear, tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, a little leather. Flavor is malty-sweet with a little toast and nutty notes, some raisins, again a little earthy leather. Warming.

Bottle in 2010 from Canals West Deptford. Poured a red-brown with medium sized off white head, alight lacing. Aromas of nuts, caramel, sugar, light hops, and creamy malts. Taste was very similar. Medium in body. Finshed a little weird/sweet for me, maybe too barleywine like. Glad I tried it thanks for sharing John.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 superspak (1464) - Michigan, USA - DEC 7, 2012
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 2/14/2011. Pours lightly hazy dark reddish brown color with a 1 finger fairly dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of caramel, molasses, chocolate, roasted malt, toffee, raisin, prune, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, herbal, and light earthy spiciness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity; very unique. Taste of caramel, toast, molasses, toffee, chocolate, raisin, prune, biscuit, nuttiness, herbal, and light earthy spiciness. Slight herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, molasses, chocolate, raisin, prune, biscuit, nuttiness, and light earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic robustness, balance, and complexity if flavors; with zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy and slick mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is extremely well hidden with hardly any warming noticed at all after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent strong ale! Great robustness and malt complexity; and very smooth to sip on. Highly enjoyable stuff, and it definitely ages great!

12oz bottle, thanks to Jay. Good chocolatey malt flavor. Little dark fruit. Earthy hops. Big bitter taste. Big chewy taste, light carbonation, bigger body. Nice roastiness. Very dark red / brown clear color. Thin off-white khaki head. Dots of lace everywhere. Super enjoyable sipper, awesome flavor. Interesting, creative brew. What the hell is it? I don’t know, let’s just call it hairy eyeball. Fine with me.

Bottle pours a dark amber. Spice booze malt caramel. Ok nothing special I’d most likely not get it again

Copper and red hues. Fabulous aromas of prunes, brown sugar, and rich malts. Complex and ’juicey’ mouthfeel. Full bodied, slight abrasive hop coarseness. A one of a kind. Delicious..

Pours a dark burgundy copper from the bottle with a decent off-white head and good lacing. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts, and slight fruity esters. Taste follows suit with a bitter alcoholic back end. Good beer, but not lagunitas’ best.
