COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Here’s Lookin’ Atcha’!"

Laying there, staring up at the ceiling, head pounding, last night was a dim recollection. How did he get home? Was he alone? Looking to the left and right, the answer was yes, maybe. His head was full of ’rag water, bitters, and the blue ruin’.His teeth felt like he’d been chewing aluminum and his breath smelled like a burning tractor tire. There was a wrenching knot somewhere between his liver and East St. Louis and he couldn’t be sure whether or not he’d wet himself. A yellow sine wave rang in his ears so loud nit made his teeth itch and he was sure that if he touched his skin anywhere it would induce a rhythmic retching jag. Even in the face of all that, he found himself smiling at the realization that today represented the fresh breast of a new year- an undiscovered country- and also there was still one warm, half-full, flat redolent Hairy Eyeball on the nightstand. Yes-there is a God.

12-oz bottle. Foamy, full head. Aroma of licorice, caramel, and vanilla extract. Color is medium brown and clear. Heavy sweetness. Heavy full body, sticky texture, almost syrupy. Surprisingly clean finish for such a heavy beer. The finish makes the beer drinkable, and not just for sipping.

Pours a dark red with a very spotty lacing. The taste starts caramel and chocolate then almost a red wine. nice mix. a little thick across the tongue. not sessionable.

TheCaptMatey (150) - Ohio, USA - MAR 2, 2015
Poured a clear dark ruby brown colour with an off white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, toffee, brown sugar, and what seems to be a fruity(cranberry) notes. Flavor is caramel, toffee, dark fruits, and a moderate dry hop bitterness. Full bodied with a chewy mouthfeel. Soft bitterness with a sweet light boozy finish. Really enjoyable.

Great smell almost like a sour ale, reddish brown appearance, taste is a little hoppier than expected, but malt can be tasted has a sweeter finish.. Starts with hops and finishes on malt lol... Would be a little better without the hops punch in the mouth but that’s what makes this one unique!

Bottle. This is nice deep ruby strong ale with great hop/malt balance. An all around winner.

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark mahogany with light head. Aromas of sweet malts and molasses. Flavors of sugary dark fruit, grass, and toasted malts with light metallic notes. ABV is well covered but nothing special overall, it’s really just a malt bomb.

On tap at the brewery. Pours clear copper color, white creamy head. Aroma is caramel malts (like an Irish Red), little bit of toffee and some hops. Flavor is malt forward. Sweet caramel, toffee, hop bitterness in the finish but not overpowering.

Poured a dark amber color with aromas of brown sugar with malt and booze. Flavors match the aromas a lot of malt and some brown sugar and booziness. Decent overall but wouldn’t actively seek it out.

Pleasant surprise for the abv. Only slight alcohol taste, just enough to let you know it is a serious beer. Dark caramel or coffee color with a light head. Very drinkable and would be easy to over do if you are not careful. Definitely on my regular list.
