COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

Mild aroma of hops, hint of pine. Nice deep orange color with a fine white head...nice lacing. Sweet caramel malt up front. Quickly followed by hoppy bitterness. Mostly pine but some citrus. Finish is unique,, Flip flops from bitter, to a reprise on sweet caramel, and then a blast of piney bitterness. It’s a bit unbalanced however. Some alcohol burn there also.

Bottle to shaker glass, pours clear copper, two plus finger frothy tan head. Awesome lacing with retention like none other. Aroma is like walking though a pine forest. Taste is very sweet and exceptionally bitter creating a nice balance. Full bodied, lively carbonation, mouth feel is slightly syrupy but not in a bad sense. Finishes long and bitter. Tasting notes of caramel, toffee, pine, Belgian candy sugar, ripe stone fruits like plum, herbs and grass. Great beer with an interesting story. 420

Bottle from Meditrina. Clear copper with lasting head and lace. Toffee and citrus aroma with a little grass and pine. Sweet caramel toffee and some old school DIPA chewy fruity bitterness. Full body and appropriately low carb. Not the kind of DIPA I normally go for but delicious and ass-kicking nonetheless.

Good looking beer, clear copper, off white head, fairly stable, coarse lace. Fresh aroma, very strong in plum, lavender, hops. A bit syrupy in the taste, a very lingery boozy finish. Had some qualities of a decent barleywine with a deep, sweet maltiness.

Bottle into a Lagunitas jar. Aroma of hops and pine. Taste is pretty smooth, not especially sweet or bitter. Body is medium and I’m aware of the alcohol (presumably a late 2015 or early 2016 bottle at 9.5%) but it doesn’t hit you over the head until you’ve had a couple. Nice orange/amber color with little foam that vanishes rapidly. Citrus, malt, hops, booze and a grapefruity finish rather than bitter hops. Very nice offering, but halfway through the first glass I’m thinking ’Massive Hangover’! It is way too easy drinking for the punch it packs, but I’ll certainly buy another sixer of this fine brew as long as it is available.

Draft @ WOB Viera. Dark amber body, little head. Solid hops offset by an almost peppery earthiness. Alcohol barely evident.

Body is banana with grass and a bit of mustard. Tastes like an English barleywine.

Poured from a bottle. Surprisingly delicious offering, for sure my highest rated by Lagunitas. Subtle vanilla aroma, dark golden and cloudy. Creamy texture, just a bit tart.

Bottled. Pours deep copper Burgundy. Big pillowy vanilla creme head. Aroma is West coast hops, pine, resin, really prominent very ripe tangerine, peach, mango. Little bit of a burnt sugar sort of deal, malt I guess you’d call it caramel? There’s a definite sugary malty sweetness. Flavor is really nice. Hoppy pine up front, orange, peach, mango, again, but more sugar residual sweetness. Not too malty, just sugary and again, not too much balanced out well by the hops. Solidly bitter finish. A little boozy. It’s Lagunitas, I’m gonna go ahead and guess this guy is like mid 8s percentage wise. Oh wow, it’s 9.8, I see that but it’s not overly boozy. It hides it well. Jesus Lagunitas makes a good product.
