COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

A light copper color with a white foamy head. Brewers says that its a especially bitter, but I found that it has a slight bitter taste from the hops. Overall this is a nice American ale.

Aroma is somewhat soapy but picks up grapefruit and caramel nuances. Malt and smooth with lots of sweet caramel, brown sugar and toffee above subtle citrus zest, grapefruit and spicy hops that are impressively layered. Finish lingers and extends impressively, with a touch of heat left uncovered.

Bottle from....somewhere? Nice copper bronze color with a big foamy head. Nice mellow caramel and sweeter hop aroma. Great flavor that almost borders on an American barley wine. Very pleasant.

Excellent American Strong Ale! Sweet, rich, full aroma with hop and malt. Flavor is full and smooth. A bit of zest on the tongue. Sweet, malty, rich hops with floral and brown sugar-esque notes. Complex and wonderful.

12 oz. bottle. Pour is crystal clear copper amber, with an off white head and lots of carbonation. Caramel and bread aroma with citrusy hops. Getting a sweet citrus quality, like mango or pineapple along with some bitter grapefruit. Taste is consistent with the aroma. Plenty of caramel, brown sugar malt with pineapple, banana along with a good citrusy hop bitterness. Alcohol doesn't taste big, but you can feel it a bit on the way down and a bit in the aftertaste. Overall this is quite good.

On tap. Great sweet malty aroma. Very tasty. Sweet caramel flavors with a good bitter punch. One of my favorites I’ve had from Lagunitas. Will look for some in the store next time.

On tap at Ashley's. Pours a dark pale. Bitter and crisp, subtle but strong, a good mix. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle from The Beer Store Wilson. Light amber hue, murky clarity with mostly lasting fizzy off-white head. Good lacing. Strong citrus, floral, booze, light fruit aromas. Heavy bitter citrus and floral tastes up front with a heavy booze and citrus finish. Watery texture on the palate with a light-medium body. Solid beer.

A - 5/5 - This is a nice copper/amber colored beer with a nice off white had that sticks and leaves great lacing. S/Aroma - 7/10 - Nice pine/grapefruit hops, with a lot of strong/sweet malt in the background. Basically a nice American Barleywine smell. T - 8/10 - Grapefruit/citrus/pine flavors from the hops are pretty prevalent, but then give way to massive sweet malts. Almost a little sickeningly sweet on the backend. M/Palate - 5/5 - Can’t really knock this one at all for the palate. Light-medium mouthfeel. Alc is very well covered. Very sweet/malty but at the same time hoppy American Barleywine type aftertaste. O - 16/20 - Good beer, A little overly sweet at times, I’m not personally that big of a fan of American Strong Ales/Barleywines either so I might be swayed a little by that. But Lagunitas makes some good stuff!!
