We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

On Tap. Full malt flavor, full body, and a nice fresh hop character balances well with the malt. The brew was a little sweet but otherwise was good.

This is a bad mugg!! Pours a great dark copper in color. This ale smells of great clean hops, but with a perfect balance of malt. Taste is great. Again balance being the key here. Lagunitas Is a great brewery and this is another great offering!!!

Lots of hops and sweet caramel flavor. Kind of like arrogant bastard. Good balance and price.

On tap. Poured a clear, dark amber color with a short white head. Spotty lacing. The aroma was well balanced between sweet malts and nice citrusy hops. A little roasty smokiness too. The flavor is brown sugar, roasted malt, smoke, citrus and floral hops. Nice mouthfeel. Medium bodied, succinct finish. Drinkable. Relatively high alcohol content is well hidden.

This stuff is extremely tasty. Almost perfect. My only "complaint" is the 9% alcohol level. Ouch. It doesn’t taste that strong, I could easily drink more of this stuff than advisable.

Fugggg. 9.03% a clearly visible see-through amber beer with a very thin head and loads of bubbles. Aromatic hops presence that turns up the corners of the mouth. Flavor is like a bouquet of hop flowers bursting in your mouth, but tame wnough not to cause discomfort or rejection. Sweet release. There might be some malt in there on the finish. Definatley a shutdown on the tastebuds. Mouthfeel is velvety. The stuff is dangerously too smooth to drink regularly.

the first lagunitas i wasn’t terribly impressed by. pours reddish with mild off-white head. nose is grapefruit and mild floral. taste is like every other hopped-up IPA with not as high an IBU. Good, but not great.

Sample at March 27, 2009 beer club meeting, at home with weeAnaP on March 28, 2009. Has an amber-orange color with a lovely head. Sweet west coast, Lagunitas hop aroma. Flavor is great! Man, I love this beer. Excellent in the mouth, No other words are necessary. This is a fun, comfortable, very pleasing beer to drink. I can’t get enough of it.

hoppy, but has a weird aftertaste. id compare this aftertaste to something generated by an 8 or 10% malt liquor. not a good aftertaste for the price you pay for this unique brew. it almost tastes like a real old beer would taste.
