We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

On Tap. Amber/orange pour with a little carbonation and rich sweet and matly aroma. Flavor was rich malts, some brown sugar, citrus, vanilla and some boozy hoppy warmness on the finish. Well done!

The aroma is sharp citrusy hops. The pour is orange hued, with a medium off white head. This is a fulll bodied beer with strong hops, and big bitter bite. The malts are mellow and subtle. The Hops bring a noticeable character of citrus and pine. Definitely not a beer to drink lots of. very good.

Growler from Big Z’s. Pours a semi hazy amber/brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, grassy and citrus hops. Flavor is sweet malt, grapefruit, and citrus (lemon) with a grassy hops finish. Lots and lots of sweet malt in this one. A bit heavy on the palate. Overall a good ASA, just hard to get through a whole pint. 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

12 oz bottle. I thought this one tasted pretty similar to the Brown Shugga and Censored Ale, but luckily it wasn’t as sweet as the former or as watery as the latter. Taste was very syrupy with hints of caramel and molasses, but fortunately there’s a nice subtle hoppiness to balance it out.

Dark amber in color... Sweet hoppy aroma that reminds me of dogfish’s 90 minute... More malty than the 90 minute and not as bitter, sweetness is dominate throughout the flavor, palate is minimally bitter... Another nice beer from Lagunitas.

Weird sweetness here. Probably Belgium bent. Raw green hops. Smooth caramely and syrupy. Tastes like a Belgium crossed with copper ale. Strange but it grows on you.

Not sure if this came from Steve E or Brian R at one of our tastings. Clear deep gold with a sturdy off whtie head. Lots of hops in the aroma, pine and citrus most notably, and there is also a substantial malt contribution with caramel, toffee, and some light stone fruit. Lightly resinous on the palate, with some stickiness as well. healty dose of caramel sweetness up front, with the hops struggling to keep up, leaving a mils sweetness that lingers in the finish.

Poured from the bottle into a glass to drink. The beer had a dark, amber brown color with a medium, foamy white head. Its aroma featured a toasty, chocolate malt scent with a mixing of some grainy hops and touches of pine and raisin. The flavor was toasty and sweet, with malty and chocolate tastes and a bit of sour and bitter components. The beer had a full, fizzy body and was pretty smooth and thick in the mouth. Definitely a quality ale.

crystal clear amber pour with a soft light tan head and random spots of lace. this is very floral and ’lagunitas’ smelling... caramel, orange, tea/ perfume-y floral hops, pineapple, faint pine and spicy alchol which clears up the sinus. the palate is mildly sweet... reminds me of less sweet honey?... flavors of non-resinous pine, golden pineapple, leafy hops, spice and an intensely dry finish which lingers and pummels my tongue. alcohol goes unnoticed. the medium body feels lighter from the alcohol and copious hop dryness... i’m gonna get hurt... 83/8/4/15/3.8

Dark amber color, decent head from the bottle. Halfway between an Old Ale and an IPA, with the good aspects of both. Lots of alcohol but well masked in the flavor and not overly sweet. Plenty of hops but well balanced by the malt. This is also just about the strongest beer that sells for under $2 a bottle in Oregon. Dangerous stuff, and highly recommended.
