COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

12 oz bottle. Coppery red, frothy light tan head dissipates into a small ring with an extremely sparse covering; heavy, heavy lacing. Aroma that trademark Lagunitas grapefruit/pineapple hops thing, quite bready and and a litte nutty; malts. Flavor is a little nondescript; slightly imbalanced bitterness, and while there is significant malt here it’s not enough to stand up to this level of hops, nor is it boozy enough. Medium body, smooth but not silky carbonation; medium to heavy stickiness. The 9.6% isn’t remotely detectable; aside from some warmth in the exhale this could easily be 6%. Another Lagunitas 10% abv utter steal of a beer at $9.99/6.

Amber color , thin off-white head. Strong aroma of pine mixed with citrus. Hoppy , bitter taste with sweet , malty background. Very good beer, juicy and malty on same time.

Draft at world of beer denver. Mild malty aroma, reddish orange pour with thin white foam. Bitter taste balanced by hops and malt, kind of low a kick as ESB. Good.

Draft: Pours amber with a white head. Aroma and flavor is pine with a hit of fruitiness. A little sweetness with a touch of bitterness at the finish.

Directly from the bottle. Mouthfeel was heavy and oily. Lots of thick malt in this one. Mediciny aroma of cherries, berries and some alcohol. Taste was very sweet. Some cherries and berries. Lots of malt. Plenty of hops but no bitterness; my guess is that was "balanced out" by all the sugar they dumped in this one. Just way too sweet for me. Yet again, another Lagunitas beer that was way too sweet.

Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Pours a medium amber with little-to-no head. Aroma is first malts, then tropically fruited hops. Taste is the same but with a thin underbelly of bourbon. Finishes bitter. Has an Old Fashioned quality.

Another lovely from Lagunitas. Bottle from Hy-Vee. Lots of malt. Semi-sweet with a good dose of hops to round it out at the end.

Pours ruby with beige head - good retention. Nose has mild citrus peel, caramel, some syrupy sweet notes in the background. Flavor is dominated by piney hops and prickly alcohol bite. Begins a little bready-malty and then quickly becomes a wash of hop resins. Finish is interestingly balanced between hop bitterness and toasted malt flavors. A good nightcap with strong flavors, but too incoherent to be world-class.

12 bottle served in a tulip. The beer pours a clear ruby brown with a thick off white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is very strong. I can smell it from a few feet away. Bright citrus hops, grapefruit, oranges, caramel, toffee, and pine resin. Really complex and nice. On to taste. With the first sip I get a ton of pine, and citrus, especially grapefruit and tangerine. As the flavors develop I get a lot of caramel and toffee, as well as some bready malts. The beer is pretty sticky overall, and fairly quenching for such a big beer. The alcohol is slightly detectable, but still well hidden for 9.3%. This is a really really good beer.

Tap at mellow new Albany. Nose is hop and clean. Pour Amber. Sweet start with hop bitterness shining thru. Good and even great but not perfect.
