COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

12 oz bottle. Coppery red, frothy light tan head dissipates into a small ring with an extremely sparse covering; heavy, heavy lacing. Aroma that trademark Lagunitas grapefruit/pineapple hops thing, quite bready and and a litte nutty; malts. Flavor is a little nondescript; slightly imbalanced bitterness, and while there is significant malt here it’s not enough to stand up to this level of hops, nor is it boozy enough. Medium body, smooth but not silky carbonation; medium to heavy stickiness. The 9.6% isn’t remotely detectable; aside from some warmth in the exhale this could easily be 6%. Another Lagunitas 10% abv utter steal of a beer at $9.99/6.

Golden copper in color with a wonderfully thick and creamy head. The bitterness is at the forefront but it finishes sweet and smooth. It's not balanced, each component is purposefully opposed to the other but the outcome is delicious!

Bottle. Nothing that stands out about this beer, but overall it's just really enjoyable. A weirdly hopped bitter with hint of caramel, toffee, and vanilla. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

very nice floral aroma with some sweet citrus notes as well. Taste is very floral hops and sweet tropical fruits, with some bitter grapefruit in the finish.

Pours a copper color with a frothy thick head. Strong bitter nose with a big body and powerful alcohol taste. Malt and hop notes shine on the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My new favorite strong ale. Too bad it’s only available at certain times of the year.

Pours clear medium golden color in the glass. Head is medium sized and builds from the bottom. Starts out with small bubbles but over time larger bubbles develop. Bubbles rise from the bottom of the glass quickly and consistently. From of roasty malts, honey and caramel. I can’t tell if I smell some hints of smoke or not. Flavor is medium sweet on the front of the tongue followed by a bit of bitterness on the back sides the mouth. Smooth consistent flavor that is not overpowering. Maybe slightly sower, but not a major part of the flavor. Reminds me of a strong ale. Given the 9.3% ABV this beer is relatively smooth and light in the mouth and doesn’t really have an alcohol flavor to speak of. Overall this is a pretty tasty beer, but don’t drink too many at once.

Aroma: caramel malts, toffee, alcohol, spices. Appearance: clear, dark gold, medium, frothy, white head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: caramel malts again, sugar, some grapefruit, overripe fruits, some pine. Overall: very nice American Strong Ale, light in aroma, but a sledge hammer in palate. Pint at Hangar on the Wharf, Juneau, AK.

Good. I had a very small tasting from a friend. It was the last bottle so I couldn't get a good eval. It's definitely worth trying again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Antenna America. Great stuff, dark fruits and toffee dominate the complex flavors, rich and smooth, syrupy body with some barley wine qualities.
