COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

The first few sips were delicious. American barley wine-ish with lots of caramel and hoppy flavours like citrus fruits and pine. Way too sweet aftertaste and the bitterness felt kinda chemical but as the beer got warmer the chemical flavour dissapeared and the sweetness calmed down. At the right temperature it’s almost too easy to drink.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2009 Slightly hazy reddish amber, diminishing off-white head leaves decent lacing. Potpourri of sweet hop aromas including citrus, pine, agave syrup, flowers, toasted malt. Like a hophead’s candy store, really. Flavors congruent to nose. Pungent bitter finish. Strong brew.

Bottle Pour: A very nice brew as I recall from a tasting a few weeks back. Though the commercial description bills it as an especially bitter ale, my main comments I included in my notes were that it was "sweet and citrusy." ... and that’s all I put. Lol. *Note to self: Focus as much on the damned comments you leave for your future self as the beer in front of you!*

Pours a dark brown with a thin white head. Smells of rich coffe and caramel malts as well as floral hops. Taste is hoppier than smells but the coffee and caramel notes are there. The hops subside to give way to a coating palate aftertaste that becomes controlled by the matly notes once again. Nice beer.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Copper color when poured. Has a malty caramel flavor. Nice hops flavor and isn’t very bitter Goes down smooth for the higher alcohol content.

I love this beer! Sweet syrupy caramel aroma, beautiful orange/red color. Sweet, hoppy, floral. Smooth, hides the alcohol content well, I can drink so many, is dangerous :)

Pours out clear light red with creamy foam. Taste is sweet malts with bitter hops. Nice crisp hoppy finish. Very drinkable for high alcohol of 9% a good value for a sixpack. Another great beer from this brewery.

Yummy. Very deep brown amber with a thin foamy ring. Nice deep pineapple hop aroma and a nice balance of malt sweetness. Taste still manages to finish crisp and with a good bitterness despite a somewhat heavy malty sweet flavor. This is a really nice beer. It’s got a little something for everyone and still comes across as balanced, smooth and flavorful. Also noticed no trace of the big abv. Very nice work!

On tap, came a red to balck color with very high carbonation levels. Very interesting and enjoyable beer. First impression is that of hop bitterness, then it glides into a mixture of flavors with some light caramel, cherries, and a noticable but light roasted character. On the drier side, and the alcohol was not that noticable.
