We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

When I hear strong ale I don’t normally know what to expect. But when I hear lagunitas i usually expect greatness. This is a very good beer. It’s not just crazy hops like a lot of lagunitas beers, it’s smooth and creamy and hoppy as hell. It’s a great beer, and probably my favorite strong ale to date.

pours clear copper with small head that diminishes. aroma is very fruity with a good amount of grapefruit and a good amount of crystal malt sweetness. taste is very hoppy with some tropical fruit and grapefruit. this beer has a lot of crystal sweetness and pretty bitter finish.

Clear ruby amber colour, light frothy white head. Crazy hoppy aroma. All hops, all bitter, very palate-cleansing. Or stripping.

Lagunitas seems to be the king of making good but not quite exceptional beers, particularly those with a high dose of both hops and malt. Another solidly enjoyable ASA, a bit darker with more sweet malt than their Lucky 13 but still hopped up and full bodied. Considering its large ABV, solid flavor, and extremely reasonable price (4$ for a bomber), it’s well worth a purchase.

Caramel, followed by some nice malt and a bit of hoppyness (as an aside, Pursuit of Hoppiness sounds like a good name for a beer). Maybe a little too much caramel. But then again, maybe not, since i still like it.

Pours a copper color with nice big tight off white head. Aroma sweet hops slight orange sweet malt note.. Taste is sweet hops sweet malt character has a barley wine type character. Medium to heavy mouth feel. Wet finish flat mouth feel. Not bad but not spectacular either.

12 oz. bottle. Pour is crystal clear copper amber, with an off white head and lots of carbonation. Caramel and bread aroma with citrusy hops. Getting a sweet citrus quality, like mango or pineapple along with some bitter grapefruit. Taste is consistent with the aroma. Plenty of caramel, brown sugar malt with pineapple, banana along with a good citrusy hop bitterness. Alcohol doesn't taste big, but you can feel it a bit on the way down and a bit in the aftertaste. Overall this is quite good.

Kinda light fozzy brown head. Aroma is hops and light roasted Malta with a slight sweet smell in the end. Taste like arrogant bastard little brother with more alcohol. Not bad light hops full bodied. Bit of an alcohol bite.

Pours a copper brown gold color. Smooth and very sweet. Whatever type of hops they use the bitterness is masked very well by the sweetness. I can taste the malts as well. Very nice. Awesome head retention and lacing on the glass. Medium bodied beer. I can smell sweet hops along with slight malt in there too. Try this one.

Pours a very nice clear, copper color. It has very nice lacing, but minimal head retention. Smells hoppy, and a bit of caramel malt. Tastes very bitter and hoppy. My only criticism is that it finishes a bit too sweet. That being said, an excellent drink!
