We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

Very Complex. Rich, full bodied flavor - lots of hops but not bitter - an earlier comment said that this had an aroma of BBQ sauce - I would go a step further and say it actually has a slight TASTE of BBQ sauce. In a good way. I think. Definitely an earthy caramel flavor to balanced the hops. My original reaction was that I would not want more than one of these at once, but this beer has so much going on that a second bottle may be required. .

Poured from 12oz bottle to tulip: Pours a clear copper with swelling off-white head. Retention is rather brief. Good lacing though. By the nose, I would assume this was an imperial red... rich caramel malts, earthy hops, pretty straightforward actually. The taste shows a bit more complexity - hops lean towards a dense ganja, a touch of citrus with that sweet malt presence. Really a nice combo I think. Nice, approachable big beer.

Bottle 355ml, from Systembolaget. Clear copper with a white head. Grassy, citrus, pine, grapefruit, some raisin, caramel. More general fruit characteristics and maltiness when it warms up. Medium body, round, medium carbonation, slightly bitter finish. Some warmness, a bit of alcohol in the nose, but not in the mouth. Nice, would buy again.

A clear dark amber to red beer with a small offwhite head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is great juicy fruity hops. Citrus, strawberry, grape. A bit piney. Touch of alcohol heat. Flavor is quite hop bitter, but there’s some nice malt backbone to it - caramel and roasty notes, without any cloying sweetness. Finish is bitter. Chewy mouthfeel. I am a fan. Sort of a dark DIPA, or an extra hoppy BW.

Pours dark copper with nice white head. Smell is hops, citrus, sugar and malt. Taste is sweet and hoppy at first then backed my a solid malt finish. Medium body, medium carbonation.

22oz reddish beer. This offering from Lagunitas smelled like sugar and hops. This beer is extremely drinkable... even before I noticed the 9.9%, I knew that this was going down quickly. Most of the flavor is the sweet malt. It reminds me of a double bag from Long Trail, only this one has more hops and more complexity. The finish is nutty and there is no alcohol flavor even as it warms up a little. This was the best Lagunitas that I have had.

Pours a clear dark amber. No head retention. Slight malt aroma. Sweet malt taste in the beginning, nice bitterness in the middle and finishes dry.

12oz bottle from The Beer Store Wilson. Light amber hue, murky clarity with mostly lasting fizzy off-white head. Good lacing. Strong citrus, floral, booze, light fruit aromas. Heavy bitter citrus and floral tastes up front with a heavy booze and citrus finish. Watery texture on the palate with a light-medium body. Solid beer.

Excellent beer, balanced to perfection, tasty and drinkable. It deserves a quiet tasting, little sipd to appreciate the many nuances it has. Very great.

It pours a nice amber/medium amber color to it. Oh!...My!!!...God! Hoppy as hell! I love it! Piny/Floral hoppy notes to it as well as grapefruity/fruity notes. This beer is hoppy, hoppy, hoppy and even more hoppy! Piny/floral hop taste. Thick/syrupy malty taste. Amazing! The after taste is a bit fruity. Which is great!
