We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

Very clear orange-amber beer with a large off-white head. Head lingers and leaves lace to the last sip. Aroma is hoppy, but well balanced with malt and crystal notes, plus significant but soft alcohol notes. Flavor is very hoppy, but again with a good malt backbone to balance it out. Mouthfeel is on the high side of medium. Tail lingers well with a nice hoppy character, but with some faint apple notes.

P: Brown copper tinted body with a thin wet khaki head. Clear and effervescent. S: Toasted caramel, toffee, barley, bready malt and copious amounts of resinous hops. T/M: Rich caramel and toffee sweetness, spice bread and cinnamon rolls. Once swallowed the resinous hops take over and tingle the entire mouth. Oak and smoldered plant stems also come through at the end. The bourbon sour mash booze factor is surprisingly well hidden. Full oily body with moderate carbonation. There is a lingering mushroom presence that coats the top of the mouth once done. O: Rich and super malty with a grand entrance of resinous hops to clean the sweet away. Really good balance and basically a toned down barley wine. Super easy drinkability that makes this a dangerous brew.

pours medium brown with a rocky off-white head. Aroma: moderately malty of cookies, heavily hoppy of pine, oranges and lime. Flavor starts lightly sweet, and heavily bitter, great hop flavor, piny and citrus and alcohol sweetness. Medium bodied and creamy with livley Co2.

bottled, clear ruby pour with small/thin white head, very mild sweet malt aroma with large floral hops on nose, tastes hop bitters upfront with grapefruit like sour in mid and lasting floral hops on palate, BIG ale with complex flavors

Bottle; Color: Dusty amber. Aroma: Sour fruit/ grapefruit. Flavor: Strong, sour fruit. Strong flavor definitely has a higher alcohol content, a bit boozy with a relatively mild finish.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2013 Pours dark golden, slightly hazy, lots of bubbles, finger creamy white head, thick lacing. Aroma is bready malt, toffee, floral and earthy hops. Flavor is slightly bitter floral hops, bready malt, slight fruity esters. Mouthfeel is medium, good amount of carbonation, slight alcohol heat and a bit peppery. Overall well balanced and tasty, not great, but pretty good.

This dark brown lager has a massive nose that reaks of bitterness. The deep dark malt profile really takes a back seat to all the hops in this one. Almost an oaky woodiness to it, but it is very muted compared to the malt, and the hops, and the light alcohol burn at the very end as it slides into the stomach. Everything I’ve had from these guysis top notch, I just could give two craps about their story of shutting down. It’s a waste. Good beer though

Damn nice beer. Straddles the line between IPA and Barleywine and does it well. I will definitely buy more of this

I shared a bottle of this with BeerBaron617. It was a medium amber brown color with a light tan head. It had a great aroma hoppy and fruity, citrus. Tasted quite good, I will have it again if I see it at the store.

yet another nice offering from Lagunitas who, in my opinion, brings us the best hoppy beer for the buck. Thanks to The Hopster for this one. Copper color with lively carbonation, tasty beer with citrus and piner hops, alcohol well hidden but kicks your ass later. Enjoyable.
