3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Kinda light fozzy brown head. Aroma is hops and light roasted Malta with a slight sweet smell in the end. Taste like arrogant bastard little brother with more alcohol. Not bad light hops full bodied. Bit of an alcohol bite.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle. Pour is crystal clear copper amber, with an off white head and lots of carbonation. Caramel and bread aroma with citrusy hops. Getting a sweet citrus quality, like mango or pineapple along with some bitter grapefruit. Taste is consistent with the aroma. Plenty of caramel, brown sugar malt with pineapple, banana along with a good citrusy hop bitterness. Alcohol doesn't taste big, but you can feel it a bit on the way down and a bit in the aftertaste. Overall this is quite good.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a copper brown gold color. Smooth and very sweet. Whatever type of hops they use the bitterness is masked very well by the sweetness. I can taste the malts as well. Very nice. Awesome head retention and lacing on the glass. Medium bodied beer. I can smell sweet hops along with slight malt in there too. Try this one.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours dark amber with small head and some brussels lace. The aroma is hoppy, some malt, sugars and a touch of smoke? Flavor is bitter with a hint of sweetness in the background. This beer definitely grew in character and flavor as it warmed.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a tan ruby color with cascading bubbles that leaves a thick tan head that is frothy, bubbly, and clingy. The aroma is spicy hops, dark fruit, plums, nectarines, cinnamon, with vanilla sweetness. The taste starts bitter with a strong malty caramel thickness that coats the palate with fruit sweetness balanced by a sharp bitterness that finishes syrupy thick and bitter but is refreshing and lively. Take that "po-po", this is a delicious brew aggresive and angry (in terms of the hop profile) great job Lagunitas!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
2007 Bottle: Pours a beautiful crystal ruby red with a big 2-3 finger white fluffy head. Quite a pretty beer to look at in my goblet. Big aroma of floral and citrus hops with just a little malt underneath. Flavor is malty and moderately bitter but has a big hop flavor at the end and some lingering bitterness. Small amount of fruit esters come through. Slight alcohol warmth. This seems much more hoppy than last years and like a completely different beer than i remember. I think this is really an Imperial IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 22oz bottle a dark amber with a reddish tint and an off-white head. Aroma was caramel malt and floral/piney hops. Flavor was malty with a bitter hop and a bit of toffee in the finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a bottle into a tiny plastic lager mug at Brew Fest in Athens, GA. The previous comments comparing this to a dipa are on track, although this proved less bitter and fuller in its malt profile than did other dipas at the Brew Fest. Amber-red in the ridiculously tiny mug from which I drank it, this went down smoothly despite the noticeable alcohol burn. A fine asa, and another worthy offering from Lagunitas.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUL 16, 2012 Pours a clear reddish color with minimal head. The aroma is sweet caramel malt and hops. Taste is a combination of sweetness and grapefruit. The finish is initially bitter and then there is some lingering sweetness. Alcohol is hidden well considering the close to 10% abv. I had to update my rating because after having several of these I would prefer if the beer was a little less sweet.

Bottle into snifter. Pours a clearish amber colour with a little off white head that disappears. Aroma is jammy fruit with a little spiciness. Taste is jammy fruit with some alcohol. This is a very nice beer.
