3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance is deep amber with a thick white foam cap. Aroma is all hop... More earthy, herbal, and citrus. Taste is grassy, earthy, onion, with slight bit of pine. Mouthfeel is fairly high. Finish is a soft hop bitterness following by intense alcohol warmth. As the beer warms the alcohol finish becomes very noticeable and leaves a stinging sensation

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
How the heck have I NEVER reviewed this one?!?! 12oz bottle picked up tonight at Whole Foods... Clear light amber brew shows a persistent light tan head that leaves great sheets of lacing. Sharp pithy hoppiness and dry toast in the nose... Expected big bitterness up front and on the finish is only punctuated briefly mid-palate by the pithy grapefruit hops and dry toast/dark caramel notes... Body is medium but accentuated by a lighter carbonation.. Drinkability is a little light for me just because it is a bitter bruiser... Still an obviously well made brew and one of the best stories from any brewery ever.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Caramelly medium copper. Clear, light soapy head, light lace. Carbonation may be a bit more than normal. 9.3% 2015. Sweet juicy hop aroma, clean, sharp, spice, light caramel malt dry toast aroma. Taste is buttery, rich clean malt, rich sweetness but so clean and crisp and easy drinking that doesn’t seem too sweet (you know it is but is so balanced its not), light dry toast, citrus balance some tang in finish. herbal, fruit hops throughout, light pine, light pine finish. Vanilla, oak almost. Bubble gummy flavors. Solid lagunitas, as usual. Crazy easy to drink 9.3%er,

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle) Amber colour with lasting, frothy, off-white head, leaving traces of lacing. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, orange marmalade, treacle toffee, caramel, honey, apricots and lots of fresh hops. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of grapefruit, orange peel, caramel, treacle toffee, honey and lots of fresh, citric hops in a finish with a generous bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty beer with a fresh, generous hop character and a touch of alcohol in the finish. Very nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Backlog, originally 2013. Clear copper, big compact white foam that dissipates slowly, leaving some lacings. Aroma is big malty, seeet, citrus, some alcohol. Taste is bitterly sweet, some sourness in between, lots of lingering hops, big malty flavours, alcohol. Medium to big body, medium carbo, sticky texture. Pretty straight up big on all accounts, almost barley wine-ish.

Quite strong and thick. A little bitter but still enjoyable. Creamy and cloudy in some features too.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 04.18.14.
A: 2 1/2 finger head. See through red.
S: Pine, grapefruit, ketchup, malt.
T: Sweet malt, grapefruit, ketchup. Caramel is there too.
M: Creamy smooth.
O: Sweet malt comes on first, then grapefruit, ketchup, and some alcohol burn at the end. The malt turns into caramel which lingers. It was like a barleywine, but with a little less hop presence. The alcohol burn was not as strong as I thought that it would be.

2year old bottle,2012 batch. Nice caramelly toffe orange flavour, smells like a belgian dark malty candy sugar, rummy and sweet. Being 2 Y old very nice my guess it still has more mellowing out left in it, should have kept a bottle for another year.
