COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

It pours a nice amber/medium amber color to it. Oh!...My!!!...God! Hoppy as hell! I love it! Piny/Floral hoppy notes to it as well as grapefruity/fruity notes. This beer is hoppy, hoppy, hoppy and even more hoppy! Piny/floral hop taste. Thick/syrupy malty taste. Amazing! The after taste is a bit fruity. Which is great!

Fruity and candy nose. Amber color. Sweet on the front with lots of subtle candy flavors. Some hops on the finish.

It’s hard to classify this beer. It has elements of a strong ale, a barleywine, and the big hoppiness of an IPA (like all Lagunitas beers). It is a fantastic beer that should be savored. Pours a deep amber and smells of primarily of hops.

WOW! What a fantastic beer! I sampled this (over and over again) on draft at the Lucky Lab in Rofo, PA. This beer is pure, flowery, dry, insane and resiny hops! It’s well-balanced though, too. There’s a nice profile of bready and yeast malts. I also tasted some hints of orange and grapefruit. This beer is about as close to a perfect 5 as you can get. The Undercover Shutdown is insanely good and fantastic. I need more!

I love this beer! Sweet syrupy caramel aroma, beautiful orange/red color. Sweet, hoppy, floral. Smooth, hides the alcohol content well, I can drink so many, is dangerous :)

Aroma of hops and more hops. What a nose! Appears red but not dirty with a very small head. Tastes of pine, grapefruit, and alcohol. An exciting beer.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2013 Top notch. Seek out if you like heavy red ales. Make sure you drink it cold as I had it the first time room temp and it had a smokey wierdness too it. Wonderful tropical hops, gauva and pinneapple plus usual grapefruit and pine. Alcohol is there but not too bad. This seems to be the kind of beer Lagunitas really knows how to make (brown shugga, lucky 13, maximus..) and I am glad someone does because it is awesome!

Hop bomb explosion- old ale or not! Caramel malt backed up by hops approaching a barley wine. Very good.

A very enticing floral hop nose. Very confident on the palate through the finish--assertive and bright, yet sweet and full. A body could easily be fooled into thinking this beer was no more than 6-7% alcohol. It will please both hop-heads and strong ale enthusiasts alike, as it displays technical mastery of balance with high potency ale as well as a mature and long-lasting hop character from nose to finish.

Bottle . Poured deep brown red with a large white head. Much lacing. Hoppy, piney aroma. Full mouthed flavour with much hoppiness, slight malt with no taste of alcohol. This is amazingly smooth. Finish lasts forever, is felt all throughout the mouth.
