3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jbone78 (42) - Panama City Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 20, 2010had this several times, but just now got around to rating it. Pours an amber color with a frothy head. not bad. smells hoppy, but what lagunita’s beers don’t? with an abv over 9%, you can taste it. it is subtle, but you can tell it is stiff. I would say this one is a borderline Imperial amber, but with 9%.

12 oz. bottle. Great fruity aroma, full head that thins a bit too quickly but leaves nice lacing. Taste is bitter and sweet. Very nice and well balanced. A really good brew for hot weather.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 Aluman (10) - Grants, New Mexico, USA - MAY 16, 2013
thick roasted smell, combined with a nice almost umberish coloring, taste has just enough of a kick to remind you what you are drinking. doesn’t carry an alcohol taste to it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 joeneugs (2141) - Livermore, California, USA - MAY 15, 2013
12 oz. bottle. It pours a dark amber color with a disappearing off white head. The aroma is nice with notes of toasty malts, signature Lagunitas juicy fruit hops, hints of chocolate and dark fruit. The flavor is the same with heavy bitterness and toasty malts. Caramel, citrus and pine dominate with a full body. Nice bitter toasty finish. Very good beer at a great price point. Cheers!
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 EithCubes (4195) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 15, 2013
Bottle. Nose of fresh hops and thin-drawn caramel, beautiful sugar cookies with bits of fruit inside. Reddish orange body and a creamy cream-tan head. Fullish body, lightly tangy with light-medium bitterness and light-medium sweetness. Hops are downplayed a bit, this edges closers toward a barleywine with its malt and rising alcohol. Actually a bit fumey, but it’s not too bad. This is essentially an amber ale on steroids, not a big malt or hop jib-cut for its size.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Darwenus (382) - Virginia, USA - MAY 13, 2013
Very bright amber color with a couple of fingers of head. The aroma is strong. The malty, sightly sweet tone in the aroma is balanced by an equally strong hop presence and a boozy feel. The flavor is delicious. It’s strong and boozy enough to compare favorably to Arrogant Bastard, but with a big rush of hops that smacks your mouth up front. Candied fruit, citrus and booze again in the finish. This is delicious.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jd10 (56) - Lebanon, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 13, 2013
pours dark bronze with medium off-white head. aroma has notes of piney hops, grass, citrus, and bready malt. caramel, malt, and dark sugar flavors with a splash of tartness up front; transitions to toffee with candied citrus hops and a good dose of bitterness for the finish. thick and slightly boozy (especially at the finish), but very easy to drink.
