4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Ap - Pours with a frothy, three-finger thick, tan colored head and leaves a good bit of lacing on the sides of the glass. The beer is a brilliantly clear, concentrated amber color.
Ar - The aroma is a heady mix of malt, but mostly hops that is noticeable as soon as I start to pour this brew. Notes of candied orange peel mix with citrus flavored caramel toffees, some notes of apricot and even some tangerine notes. There is a tiny bit of alcohol in the nose as well, and when mixed with the citrus. A touch of herbaceous pine rounds out the aroma. Reminds me of Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale.
P - The beer is hefty enough, as it tends to linger on the palate and even has a bit of stickiness to it.
T - The beer is sweet and malty up front, which really amplifies the fruity-citrusy hop notes. However the hops are the dominant note in this beer, with notes of red grapefruit, apricot and tangerine found up front. Towards the end an herbal, almost pine like, solid bitterness starts to take hold and lingers on in a long bitter finish.
O - And the beer is not so thick and rich as to keep this from being pretty drinkable. It has a definite warming effect like a trippel but with more hops. A very nice brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Fresh aroma of malt and light hops. Clear dark amber color, frothy two-finger tan head that stays, bubbly lace cobwebs. Taste is strong malt with some caramel that adds light carbonation and hops on the swallow, then moves easily to a long sweet and bitter finish that shows a little unsweetened tea. Big, but not heavy, but awfully strong for general drinking. I could buy it again.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

Pretty good, not an IPA like I usually have but a "strong ale" which was dark and strong. Had a good initial taste with no heavy aftertaste

4.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
One of my favorite beers and wish it was available year round. The flavor is first bitter ( like a good IPA) then smooth and a nice pour with a good head. The taste is so smooth you cannot have just one.

Poured into wet snifter, heavy and mean yet smoooooove and delightful. It’s got the booze and you can taste it, but it’s still smooooooove amazingly. I’d like some more, thank you.

Flaska på En Trappa Upp, premiär på Pitchers ölhak, Örebro. Klar mörk bärnstensfärgad med vitt skum. En udda, syrlig doft som är svårplacerad. Lite överkokt grönsakskompott och ättika. Medelstor kropp. Ganska stor klibbig beska. Granskott, kåda, kola, kakdeg. Inte alls vad jag förväntade mig. Ruskigt svårplacerad. Känns inte särskilt typiskt för Lagunitas, särskilt inte i den här tyngden. Lite för lätt, och lite för lite!

From 12oz bottle, purchased single at Trader Joe’s for about $1.50, poured into 16oz tulip glass
Aroma: caramel, spruce, citrus, grass, floral,
Appearance: orange, hazy, tan foam, frothy,
Taste: very bitter, light sweetness,
Palate: medium to full body, sticky, creamy, average carbonation, bitter, long finish,
Overall: A nice bitter ale. Great aroma with what smells like American hops with citrus and piney aromas. Nice body and head. Very delicious. I’d never guess that it was 9%. Very smooth. Only a slight (very slight) hint of alcohol on the finish.

Best beer I’ve had in a month. Wow. Clear copper pour with a white head. Aroma and taste of fruits and brown sugar without being sugary. Cherries. Hint of caramel. Sweet but not too much. Transparent with nothing overpowering anything else. So very good. Alcohol well hidden. Absolutely delicious.
