3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2016-04-29. Crisp dark yellow body, modest white head. 3+ Aroma is a melange of fruit and green leafy hops. Flavour is fairly bitter up front, leafy green hops, light resin, citrus rind. Moderate alcohol is mitigated on the palate by the bitterness. Average plus bodied palate, moderate carbonation. 3+ Love the highlights but the overall impression is a little intense for me. 7/3-4/7/3/14-15 Bottle shared by Blankboy.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sampled at Pour in Greenville. Bright clear golden pour with good white head ring. Deliciously stinky piney skunky nose. Flavor has a bitter woody aftertaste which compliments the sweet pineapple hop notes really nicely done. And hides the Abv amazingly well.

On tap: The aroma consists of huge citrus, tropical fruits, lemon, and dank hops. It’s a transparent golden-orange with a small white head that fades to a thin film outlined by a thin ring. The flavor starts with citrus, tropical fruits, and pineapple. The finish has moderate grapefruit with light-moderate dank hops and mild lemon. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bright golden orange with a slight hone-finger dense white head and modest lace. Dank juicy hop aromas full of citrus and pine. Grapefruit, mango, orange peel, lemon, tangerine, pineapple, resin and medicinal herbs. Light malt hints of caramel/bread and grains with some yeast. Taste is similar, with big pine resin and citrus up front Solid malt notes of caramel, grains, and cracker emerge to counter the bitter hops, but without the syrups mess the ABV might imply. Full bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation, chewy creamy mouthfeel, and a dry finish. Alcohol heat is subtle for 11.5%.
Overall: A great juicy explosion of hop tones. Big citrus and pine flavors with a definite 420 scent.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Refrigerated 12 oz. squat brown bottle poured into a snifter. Beatiful deep opaque orange with small/medium white head. Aroma is pretty nice grapefruit hops & malt, medium/thick body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is alcohol, pine hops, some grapefruit hops, and malt backbone. Alcohol is just to prevelent in the taste of this beer.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
The Waldo’s Special Ale has a medium, off-white head, a mostly clear, honey-colored appearance, some bubbles, and a bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of strong, apricot-like hop resin, up front, and background white bread, and a spice, of some sort, maybe. Taste is of those elements, with very intense and profound hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is high medium, and The Waldo’s Special Ale finishes drying and strong. RJT
