4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bright golden orange with a slight hone-finger dense white head and modest lace. Dank juicy hop aromas full of citrus and pine. Grapefruit, mango, orange peel, lemon, tangerine, pineapple, resin and medicinal herbs. Light malt hints of caramel/bread and grains with some yeast. Taste is similar, with big pine resin and citrus up front Solid malt notes of caramel, grains, and cracker emerge to counter the bitter hops, but without the syrups mess the ABV might imply. Full bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation, chewy creamy mouthfeel, and a dry finish. Alcohol heat is subtle for 11.5%.
Overall: A great juicy explosion of hop tones. Big citrus and pine flavors with a definite 420 scent.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Refrigerated 12 oz. squat brown bottle poured into a snifter. Beatiful deep opaque orange with small/medium white head. Aroma is pretty nice grapefruit hops & malt, medium/thick body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is alcohol, pine hops, some grapefruit hops, and malt backbone. Alcohol is just to prevelent in the taste of this beer.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
The Waldo’s Special Ale has a medium, off-white head, a mostly clear, honey-colored appearance, some bubbles, and a bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of strong, apricot-like hop resin, up front, and background white bread, and a spice, of some sort, maybe. Taste is of those elements, with very intense and profound hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is high medium, and The Waldo’s Special Ale finishes drying and strong. RJT

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Lots of hop flavors and aromas backed up with a well hidden malt backbone and sweetness that will eventually overcome the bitterness and make this beer have a fairly short shelf life.

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Wow, this is a fantastic imperial IPA, maybe the best I’ve had. Its super sweet, which disguises the ridiculous ABV. VERY potent fruitiness, mostly tropical with some citrus.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
[My bottle (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry, jercraigs & mabel] Pours a hazy, bubbly gold with an average size semi-lasting frothy white head. Aroma is quite fruity and citrusy, herbal, hempy and a bit catty as well. Flavour follows along with a big bitter finish. Alcohol fairly well hidden for that high abv. Medium bodied. I quite enjoyed this.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Had at the brewery and was able to pick up bottles this 4/20. Aromas of pineapple, super deep pine, sweet sap, slight boozy finish. Flavors of resin, pine, pineapple, and sweet floral finish. Clear golden color, foamy white head. Packs a hoppy bitter punch, tongue torcher. Super well done.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours deep amber into a shaker. White head with little retention recedes to pool surface. Sourdough and earthy marshmallow aromas. Dry to medium bodied with dank hot resin and pine upfront turning to pith in the lasting finish.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Clear yellow orange pour with a white head. Nice lacing. Strong aroma of peach, tropical fruit, pine, and caramel. Hits you as soon as you open the bottle. Taste is juicy peaches, resin, pineapple, caramel. Lasting bitterness. Some alcohol warmth. Medium full body. Awesome beer. Dangerously drinkable.
