4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Oh my goodness! Menu says 9.2% (website says 10.5%) and tapped today at 6pm - on tap from Tap25 in Livermore. Pours deep orange, a little cloudy, nice white head that eventually disappears. Smells of pine, overpowering sweet citrus and tastes of earthy, orange/grapefruit, even hops/mary jane (wait...420 is in the title?). Malt is there but hops really stand out. Big, bold, dank, resinous, and sweet...is this the best Lagunitas beer since Sucks? Yep. Great DIPA.

Tallahassee, Fl. Brass Tap - on tap. Dark amber pour, initial foamy off-white head. Spearmint, apricot fruitiness, some spruce in the resiny aroma. Solid, robust flavor with juicy citrus notes, plenty of sticky caramel sweetness, some pomegranate fruitiness. Some nutty notes in the back end. Thick, rich sticky mouthfeel. Very solid, Lagunitas always delivers.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, listed at 11.1% ABV
Hazy amber color with Cooper hue, compact head. The hops are fruity bit also a bit candyish, not too aromatic; the body is lean but the beer is somehow chewy; moderate sweetness; loads of piney hops; in the final apparently the malt sticks more than the hop. Nice alcohol warmth, and tickling hop resins.
Good malty beer. Old style IIPA.

Poured up on tap at K n B Wine Cellars where it exhibits a clear copper body that supports a tall light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up an inviting blend of dank onion like spicy hop, some mango and then an apple-y sort of cherry fruitiness spicy woodiness. The taste delivers bold yet restrained resiny hop bitterness where there’s ample quantities of pink grapefruit, pine hops and loads of spicy dank onions. Yummy. Terrific iipa where it’s bold and brash and a bit boozy and just slightly restrained. Solid to style offering.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rusty dark with a medium head and lacing. In your face hop aroma and a grapefruit hop taste. A little earthy but I think that’s the double IPA talking. Medium body with a resin mouthfeel. Pretty good.

Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex citrus and resin hop aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer and exceeded my expectations.
