4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: APR 21, 2012 A fresh tap pour from Dogwood Tavern in Falls Church, VA. Lagunitas actually outdid themselves on this hop masterpiece! A 9.2% Double IPA that smells like a fresh hop garden, is PERFECTLY well balanced, and drinks like something of a session IPA. Floral, citrusy-sweet and piney, I could drink this all night long!!!!! Unfortunately, it wasn’t lit enough to see the color, but I’m almost certain of a full clarity, amber-yellow. It has a thin white, sugary lacing, This is very possibly my favorite beer from the hop side of Lagunitas ever!

Pours a clear golden color with an off white head. It has a very clean, candied grapefruit bouquet. It has a wonderful grapefruit forward flavor. There’s a nearly perfect mouthfeel for the style. It’s very complimentary to the flavors. No discernible alcohol warmth. This is a magnificent beer.

Very good. Nice malty backbone while still maintaining a nice piney ipa feel.
On tap at langunitas.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
A: Poured a transparent glowing golden, orange color with great carbonation leaving a nice white cap, bubbles and a lot of lacing even as I finished the glass lacing and bubbles were clinging on to the glass for mercy
S: Tropical fruits raid the nose with a whiff of booze and breadiness. Main notes were mango, orange zest, pineapple and other light orchard fruit like apricot and peach
T: Big mango, pineapple, apricot and fruits upfront with a nice booze sting, the hops tend to be upfront and it transitions into a bready malt base. Hops are sre smooth and there is not much of a hop bite, not stinging like PtY, Hop Venom or others. Very smooth on taste.
M: Medium bodied, well carbonated, loads of flavor but the mouthfeel is a little soapy and oily
O: Fantastic, I really loved this! my only fault in this beer was the slickness on the back end

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Belmont Station. Colour...a deep, orange-amber with a tiny of garnet and a very thick off-white head. Nose...husky, crushed hops, hop resin grapefruit skin and damp fresh hay. Palate...intensely sweet from front to back with an intensely sweat-like character that’s actually better than it sounds! Quince and pith are prominent up front, but overall, this ale definitely has a strong leaning towards the grapefruit side as opposed to the piney side. This is a viscous ale which, coupled with the sweetness, might make it seem like a dessert ale (and perhaps it is!).

Draft. Hazy copper. White small head. Some lacing. Considering the amount of alcohol its malt is well hidden behind the hops. Glad I got to try it. It's tasty

Oh my goodness! Menu says 9.2% (website says 10.5%) and tapped today at 6pm - on tap from Tap25 in Livermore. Pours deep orange, a little cloudy, nice white head that eventually disappears. Smells of pine, overpowering sweet citrus and tastes of earthy, orange/grapefruit, even hops/mary jane (wait...420 is in the title?). Malt is there but hops really stand out. Big, bold, dank, resinous, and sweet...is this the best Lagunitas beer since Sucks? Yep. Great DIPA.

Good to be #10. Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe at 4:20 PM. Board note: "The dankest, hoppiest beer ever brewed at Lagunitas. My rate:
Pours translucent orange gold with a foamy white head. Huge citrus/floral aroma. Very near full bodied. It’s almost sludgy with hop. Fruit hop. Citrus hop. Maybe some resin. There’s a little sweetness, and I think I detect caramel under all the hop. Bitter like resin, but not the NW version of harshness. Earthy, swampy, fruity, bitter. Extremely hoppy. Very tasty.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This beer was awesome. On tap @ the Reagle Beagle. Pours a medium orange amber, mostly clear with a nice off white head that held good lacing. Big nose of sticky pine and citrus fruits. Medium to heavy bitterness in the finish. Well done Lagunitas.

Draft at Maria’s. Pours a very clear gold with white head that falls. Nose is juicy with peach and mango dominating. Crisp fresh and juicy. Some noted malt sweetness as well. Better than hop stoopid. On tasting, moderate bitterness supports the booze and subtle malt. Drying finish. Lots of great juicy and fruity hops, peach and mango again. Not much more to say other than that this absolutely fantastic.
