22oz bottle @ Coles Buffalo NY. Pours an orangish golden color. Fruity bubblegum, orange marmalade, raspberry, slightly perfumy aroma. Taste is sweet, slight yeastness, raspberry-berry flavor, sweet marmalade, sweet maltiness. Got a little better as it warmed. Average

Backlog rating 2-94-2009 (Bottle) When poured, this beer has a small fizzy ivory head that was mostly lasting, fizzy carbonation, hazy body, good amount of lacing, and the hue of the body is golden. The Aroma is fruity, sweet, spicy, some hint of banana, and yeasty. The Taste is sweet, spicy, fruity, hoppy, and has a dry finish. The Palate is medium and this is a medium bodied beer. I enjoyed the way the flavors of this beer come together and it has a nice warming sensation to it. This is a good beer to drink on a cold snowy day. It is worth trying and not only would I drink it again, but also recommend it.

Bought at Monster Beverage, Pours a cloudy orange with thin lacing and not much head. Aromas and taste of apples, white pepper, clove and other spice. Smaller notes of pear, and light caramel malts in the close. Pretty good beer made for the 40th anniversary of the album. 3.6

22 oz. bottle poured into two Tripel Karmeliet glasses. Clean copper in color. Head leaves a touch of lacing on the glass. Not a bad beer, but I probably wouldn’t get it again. There are many tripel style beers I prefer to this one. Lacks the complexity and lingering fruity aftertaste that I am used to from St. Bernadus, Tripel Karmeliet, Allagash, etc. Smooth tasting and easy to drink. Overall, not bad, but doesn’t measure up to the elite tripels.

Tasting at Mes and Sims flat. Hazy amber beer. Softish dry palate. Rich malt. German style it feels like, definitely a bit Marzen.

Bomber from Decicco Ardsley NY. Nice golden pour with a thick head. Dry grassy (in a good way) hoppy with no hints if anything! Nice homage to Frank!

22 ounce bottle into chalice, I hope this has held up over 4 years. Pours slightly cloudy golden orange color with a small 1 finger dense off white head with good retention that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Some decent spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big grape, orange, pear, apricot, biscuit, candi sugar, clove, honey, and yeast spices. Some fairly nice aromas, with good balance and complexity. Taste of orange, apricot, pear, grape, honey, biscuit, pepper, clove, candi sugar, toasted grain, and yeast spices. Lingering notes of grape, pear, apricot, pepper, candi sugar, and biscuit on the finish for a good bit. Good flavor balance and decent complexity. Much more sweetness than spiciness; but is minimally cloying. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly creamy and slick mouthfeel. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming after the finish present. Overall this is a nice and enjoyable Tripel. Good complexity and balance; and quite smooth to sip on.

Poured from a bomber. Is this the only abbey triple with a twist off cap? Could be. Appearance is a dark yellow showing a touch of haze. White head and good retention. Aroma is sweet, dark fruits. The taste us sweet like fruity pebbles, but not in an offensive way. After the initial sweetness dissipates, a woody note comes through with a dark fruit presence. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy. This is not really like any other triple I’ve ever had. Good, though.
