grapefruit, piney aroma jumps out straight away, big time. pours a golden brown with an of white head. a biscuity lingering mouthfeel is what really stood out in my first sip. second sip my brain is trying to work out the hop maddness thats going on, lots and lots of hops hit the palate. a really nice bitterness dances around the mouth lingering the perfect amount, its shaping to be a favourite ipa i can feel it. pity its so imposible to get in australia!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.
The color is light amber with some slight foamy white head and some nice lacing.
The smell is a little of wet floral hops. Some slight tangy notes.
The taste is quite hoppy. A good mix of floral hops and a crystal malt with some fruit sweetness. Some hints of lemon and grapefruit.
This a pretty balanced IPA, good hop taste but not overwhelming but is not as present as anticipated. Is pretty easy drinking and almost doesn’t feel like an IPA for a minuet or two.
Feels slightly lighter than most.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Comes out of the tap a dark, hazy, honey-golden with a fine-bubbled beige head. Aroma is richly hoppy, somewhat evergreen, promising a good IPA. Strongly evergreen flavor is richly hoppy, quite bitter but not overwhelmingly so, and subtly sweet; it gives the impression of drinking a pine tree - what a great IPA does! Texture is rich, lively and somewhat smooth. A must for anyone who loves hoppy beers.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Part of the Wifes Christmas beer present. Good smells of Hops and spruce, with a touch of cedar. Reddish amber in the glass with a half finger head.A little sweet, somewhat sticky. Strong flavors of pine with a touch of grass, some maltiness throughout. Ends on a grapefruit-esque bitter/sweet note. Better than expected.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at OBriens during their 2008 Wet Hop Festival weekend. Backlogged rating. Very floral hops aroma, with flavors of orange candy citrus. Less spicy than other beers sampled that evening. Good drinkability.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Pours a clear gold/orange with white head. Fairly dry IPA, lots of grapefruit, citrus zest, lemon grass, with a bit of malt background. Herbal and slightly earthy. Pretty good, but I usually dont expect to much from lagunitas.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted at the 2008 Bistro Wet Hop Festival 10/4/2008 as Marshall Field Wet Hop Maximus. This IPA pours an orange gold color from the tap. Large to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is herbal and floral. A Medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are floral and earthy with a slight vegetative flavor. Wet Hops are noticeable. Medium bitterness with sort of builds to a strong bitterness. Nice clean finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap @ O’Brien’s. This was my favorite brew from the 2008 Wet Hop Fest @ O’Brien’s. Pours a deep gold with an off white head that held great lacing. Nose of peaches, other tree fruits and citrus hops. Flavor was slightly sweet with a nice malty backbone.....outstanding!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours clear orange with a ring of white bubbles. Sweet grapefruit candy aroma with fresh oranges. Nice, strong pink grapefruit hop taste with some orange peel. The malt is there, but not too much so as to spoil the bittersweet hops. Great news: that Lagunitas sugary sweetness is also missing, making this one big, clean, hoppy beer. Great stuff.
