4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours clear and brown with some frothy tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with strong prune and raisin notes. Taste is incredibly sweet and smooth with again a plethora of prunes. I also get some slight hops but they are completely overshadowed by the sweet character of this beer. Lagunitas has yet to disappoint.

Pours nice deep brown with cream colored head. Lagunitas aroma of hops and yeast. Nice chocolatey smooth grain with a nice hearty nature. Finished drying with an earthy flower lagunitas hop flavor, that familiar nature that runs through all theirs. Very drinkable goes down to easy cold. Very solid Brown ale.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
caramel, coffee, roasty, resin, dough, brown, hazy, frothy, tan foam, heavy cloying sweetness, medium bitterness, medium sourness, full body, creamy, soft carbonation, bitter, long finish, very flavorful beer, lots of stuff going on, a little hoppy for me personally, I got sucked in by the "Malty" on the label, but I am sure that if you enjoy a piney more bitter taste you will enjoy this.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2013 Bottle @ unibaren, 8/7 2013. Brown/caramel, medium white head that settles quickly, okay lacing. Aroma, malty burnt caramel, nutty, hoppy alcoholic, sweet bitter. Taste, sweet malty, hoppy, caramel, toasted bread, nutty. Leaves a little dry hoppy bitter aftertaste. Good mouth feel, not too much carbonation. Use it as my mothers grave beer.

Bottle: malty, caramel notes. Sweet and sticky taste to it with a nice boost from the hops. Good stuff.
