Clear dark amber pour with a plush long-lasting off-white head. Aroma is caramel, raisin and just a touch of molasses. Taste is raisin, biscuit and dark fruit. Finishes with some mild hop bitterness and a slight warming alcohol taste. Pretty good brown ale.

Bottle. Pours clear chestnut red/brown with a excellent lacing and partly lasting beige medium head. Aroma is quite malty and very bready, toasted malts, nuts, spicy grain, brown sugar, raisins, light chocolate note, wort, white cheese and berries. Taste is moderate sweet, bitter and very light acidic. Body medium, texture is smooth, carbonation is soft+. Finish is dry and bitter. Fairly intense flavour.

Aroma is super malty. Some medium hop notes. A little oaky wine hint in there. Looks average. Medium head. Sort of light watery brown. Taste is super sweet. Its like liquid dates. Sugary sweet... too sweet. Barley note. A little wheaty. Palate is light. But very smooth. Finish is a sweet booze thing. Overall I am less than impresses with this one. The sweetness of this beer is just way over the top. It takes away from other notes. Hops don’t balance it out. Not balanced enough.

Brown and clear in colour with some copper. Nice aroma of prunes, Tokaji and some vanilla. Wonderful taste that reminds more of a good barley wine. Still easily drinkable, perhaps because of the medium short aftertaste.

Draft. Pours deep amber/brown with a medium off white head. Aroma of citrus and floral hops. Medium body with floral hops upfront balanced nicely with malt sweetness and a bitter hop finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear mahogany brown body under a one finger frothy beige head that left a lot of sticky lacing. The nose is malt driven with lots of nutty and toasted malt, some light chocolate notes as well as a light floral hoppiness. The flavor is rich and malty with nutty malt, chocolate, some light brown sugar, a bit of lingering bitterness. Very full flavored and intense for a style that’s usually very boring and bland. Medium to full bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a lingering cocoa and coffee like note. This is really enjoyable, one of the best Lagunitas beers I’ve had.

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2013 Pours a clear dark Brown with a off white pillowy head. Aroma is Sweet roasted malts with some citrucy hops mild chocolate and nut notes + Carmel and some floral piney notes. Taste follows the nose well with some black licorice notes. Has a very smooth medium mouth feel. Tan whip cream Lacing all the way down the glass. If your into a malty beer with some west coast hop character you will love this. F*ck! This is a awesome beer!!! Doesnt get any better Than this! Wow!! I would call this a desert beer.
