WTF Ale. A malty, robust, jobless Recovery Ale! We’re not quite in the Red, or in the Black... Does that mean we’re in the Brown?

A big Ol’ Imperial Brown Ale to help you with your slipperly slide on into springtime. Rich, smooth, dangerous & chocolatey.

Clear dark copper color with decent head and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt and raisin with some hoppiness. Taste is more hoppy than expected with underlying maltiness and some dark fruit sweetness. Medium bodied with somewhat of an oily mouthfeel. Not my favorite example of a brown ale. Had at the Crescent Moon in Omaha. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Schysst beska, hel del sötma, väl dold ABV, känns krallig utan att vara övermäktig. Ganska bra! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle in Seattle. Creamy offsetting tan head on chocolatey malt brown. Sweet bitter coffee bean, cocoa nib. Bitter ruddy grain. Dark bitter brown. Bitter grainy chocolate. Alcohol well squared away. Lightest red fruit notes. Nice, bitter assertive brown.

Another 22 oz. bomber from HEB, poured into a glass stein. I like the color sort of a reddish brown. Ivory foam. It laces nicely as you drink it down. Tasty flavors, slightly piney, nutty maybe. I am enjoying the big flavors these days and this is a step off of that. I prefer a hoppy IPA or a Belgian but this is quite pleasant. A little higher on the alcohol content but you will not notice it. Oh yeah, definitely worth a return trip.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Clear mahogany colour, rich head. Toasty nose with some nuts, dates and fudge. Mid sweet with solid body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Caramel, pine and fudge. Very bitter finish with resiny tones.

Deep burgundy/brown color, large beige head. Malt aromas, sweet dried fruits, alcohol and caramel. Malt tasting beer with sweet layers of dried fruits, syrup and a long, slightly bitter finish.

Lots of fresh citrus and good malt backbone. Some caramel and light plum. Dark mahogany pour with good head and lacing. Bittersweet finish. Tap at Sharp Edge.

Big American brown bottle. Pours medium dark brick red/brown with a medium tan head subsiding average slow. Scent is brown ale, chemicals. Little sourness. Taste is medium caramel and light early hops. Medium sour kind of chemicals. Finish is a bit peppery. Quite good.
