WTF Ale. A malty, robust, jobless Recovery Ale! We’re not quite in the Red, or in the Black... Does that mean we’re in the Brown?

A big Ol’ Imperial Brown Ale to help you with your slipperly slide on into springtime. Rich, smooth, dangerous & chocolatey.

Bottle. Another nice brew from Langunitas. Probably not the best choice on a 90 degree day, but with a couple of home grilled burgers it’s a great fit. It pours a deep dark mahogany brown with a nice 2 finger tan head that laces well as it goes down. The aroma is of sweet dark fruits and heavy malts with a nice nutty malty flavor on the tongue that has a nice bitter hoppy finish. I can get really get into brews that balance both the sweetness of the malt and the bitterness of the hops. All to often a dark brew is too heavy on the malt. This one is not. A great brew for red meat. Highly recommended.

Bottle to glass - pours a dark, tinted amber with a sudsy light beige head. Aroma is very malty and rich, caramel but well rounded with a floral, pine edge. Medium body and carbonation. Pretty standard for the style, malty toastiness, nice bitter finish with apple and traces of spice.

From bomber to tulip. Moderate chocolate aroma dominates. Slight bready background. Clear copper-brown with retained off-white head. Taste is sugary and sweet. Slight floral aspects and finishes rather bitter.

Beautiful deep amber beer with very little off white head. Aroma of dried fruits and toast and light sense of coffee. Really nice taste with lots of sweetness but balanced by roasted malty notes and some coffee notes. Pleasant experiance.

Tempting lacy head. Fresh fruity smell with some promising tones of oak. Robust flavor with malt and acidy fruit, a little coffee, some bready parts and warm grass lawns. A bit too much alcohol perhaps. Can be recommended, though.

22 oz. bottle. Smells hoppy. Thin head. Cola in color. You can taste the hops and some malt. Some sweet notes. Puts a little buzz on your tongue. Above average ale.
