COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In der Lahnsteiner-Brauerei wird das ganze Jahr über Bockbier, auch Starkbier genannt, gebraut. Der Schneebock ist als dunkle Variante unseres Bockbieres ganzjährig erhältlich. Ursprünglich wurden Bockbiere gebraut, indem man ein Vollbier mit "normalem" Alkoholgehalt im Lagertank abkühlte, bis Wasser gefriert. Es bildete sich eine Eisschicht am Rand des Lagertanks. Da Alkohol einen niedrigeren Gefrierpunkt als Wasser hat, friert er nicht zusammen mit dem Wasser aus, und der Alkoholgehalt des Bieres steigt an. Durch diese Herstellungsweise wurde das fertige Bier als "Eisbock" bezeichnet. In der Lahnsteiner-Brauerei wird das Bockbier von Anfang an stärker eingebraut und später nicht mehr ausgefroren. Die Erinnerung an den "Eisbock" und der Ausschank im Winter führte zum heutigen Namen "Schneebock".

This stuff rocked, shared with Bierkrug. Brown color, nice fruit, malt aroma. Flavor is malts, sweet and roasted, some fruits and some bitterness.

Gift from Sj. Coppery / orange pour with an earthy aroma mixed with caramel malts and toffee. Taste was sweet caramel malts, mild toasttness, some grass witha mild bitter finish. I liekd it.

A clear light brown/amber colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of caramel with fruits and hints of spices. The taste of caramel with small hints of choco, fruits and some spices. The aftertaste is some bitter and very sweet.

Sehr milder Antrunk. Malzig, ohne richtig süß zu sein, aber auch für die herbe Seite kann sich das Bier nicht richtig entscheiden. Im Mittelteil wird das Bier malziger, bleibt aber wässrig. Copper brown, small off white head, somewhat malty aroma with caramel, and dates. Slightly bitterness comes up when drinking, somewhat sweetish by caramel, rather a short finish in which alcohol shows up at the end.

Bottle. Sweet raisin, toffee malt and moderate astringent aroma. Dark chestnut color with large off white head. Sweet toffee malt dried cherry, and mildly bitter hay hops and astringent alcohol flavor. Excellent.

Bottle at One Pint, Helsinki. Hazy orange brown coloured with a medium sized off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel with notes of dried fruits and hops. Sweet flavour of caramel with notes of dried fruits and hops. Hoppy finish.

(Bottle at One Pint Pub) Poured brown and clear. Head was medium sized and white. Aroma was quite metallic and malty. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, mildly metallicness, grass, hint of chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Quite hoppy for a bock.
