(Laitilan Kievari Barley Wine) Bottle 330 ml from Hermod, thanks! Pull-off cap. Poured into a snifter, ABV 8.3% Dark brown red colour on the body with a good sized tan head, thick enough to have a good retention, Light lacing left on the glass. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel, light vanilla, light chocolate nuances. Taste of malts, caramel, dark and red fruits, some hops too, mildly sweet at first but with a nice bitterness on the finish. The bitterness stays on the aftertaste too, with quite long duration. Lively carbonation, medium thick body. Very good, and althought not so strong, a great sipper, especially after it warmed up.

A fine deep brown and subtle red color, with a small tan head. Caramel, and dried fruits in the nose. Quite nice. A fine thick body, and not to sweet. In my cup of tea, most barley wine are to sweet. Decent balanced flavor. Well masked alcohol. Bready, caramel and plum fruity. A quite decent BW.

Bottle [thanks to Rosenbergh] @ home. Nice red color, full sized lightly creamy beige to slightly lightly brown colored head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of malts with a touch of fruits and lightly hops. Taste malts, nicely bitter, a touch of fruits. Way more bitter than I expected though both the aroma and the flavor have got some sweetness in it as well. Medium body and carbonation. Nice, I like it. Not like the typical barley wine. Kind of a mix between a barley wine and an American strong ale if you ask me. Pretty enjoyable.
