Looks terrible, sort of murky brown. Massive tainted white head, very hard to get rid of. Flavour is alcohol, malts, some roast, fairly bitter. Hard to get a grasp on this one. It’s not a warming, loving barley wine. It’s more a rough and ready alcohol bomb. Just read this has nelson sauvin on it, but I think the character of the hop doesn’t quite come through. The flavour it leaves on your mouth is a long lasting malty finish, with some wine like hints.

330 ml bottle. Dark reddish brown colour, thick tan head. Fruity aroma, with some malty and acidic notes. The flavour is malty, with berries, just a little caramel sweetness and a warm, bitter hoppy finish. Not bad.

02.01.13. Bottle. Large beige foam with large bubbles. Very dark brown, clear beer. Aroma is yeasty, malty, sweet and nice overall. Tastes bitter, some alcohol, watery, dry. Mouthfeel foamy and dry, med. carbonation. Aftertaste bitter and warming, not pleasant. I did not really enjoy this one.

330 ml bottle. Aroma malty and a bit sour. Flavor is sour, yeasty, sweet from caramalt. Nice body.

Kaatuu lasiin likaisenruskeana (aivan kuraveden näköinen) ja niukkavaahtoisena. Haju on banaanisen maltainen, mainen, marjainen ja hieman alkoholinen. Haju viittaa oikeastaan enemmän weizenbockiin tai sahtiin kuin barley wineen. Maku on hyökkäävän ylikypsän banaaninen alkoholilla höystettynä. Mukana on myös maata ja marjapensasta. Ei mitenkään miellyttävä, johtuisikohan siitä, että tuli kaadettua koko pulloa kerralla (hiivat mukana?). Suutuntuma on todella hiilihappoinen, muuten suht ohut. Kokonaisuutena tämä jätti kylmäksi, maistuu ja haisee sahdille tai weizenbockille. Tekevätkö hiivat tosiaan näin paljon makuun vai onko se Nelson Sauvin-humala?

Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Murky brown color. Cookies, maple syrup and some dried fruit in the aroma. Malty sweet alcoholic flavor. Well hopped. Grassy notes. Cookie dough. Sharpish mouthfeel.

Bottle from trade with rosenbergh, kiitos. Red brown color with huge frothy beige head towering over my glass. Aroma of pines, caramel, coffee, yeast.
Taste, grapefruit hops, yeast, chocolate, wheat, tangerine zest. Hoppy finish. With chocolate coconut cookie it went well.

Bottle. Cloudy brown with a beige head. Sweet, yeast and some earthy notes in aroma. Some berries, malty sweetness in taste.

Cola brown, foamy medium white head. Aroma of banana, like in a wheat beer or sahti. Some stout like bitterness. Crispy carbonation. Sahti like yeastiness. Lots of sweetness after the first taste and before the bitter after taste. Not quite a barley wine but very interesting yet bizarre combination. Liquorice, roasted coffee, grape fruit, sweetness, yeasty banana.
