Sweetish with treacle, asphalt and some butterscotch and cardboard edges. treacle comes to dominate the slightly metallic finish. Heavy stout lacking finesse.

Pours a deep black color with a light brown head that reduces down to a thin even layer. Nose is heavy with chokolate, coffee and liquorice. Taste starts off sour and toasty, followed by bitter coffee and ending in a mix of hoppiness and the warmth of alcohol. After warming up a bit the nose takes on sherry notes and the taste becomes softer and rounder. Carbonation is on the high side which may be due to this coming from a tap. A full bodied beer for slow enjoyment.

Malty slightly chocolate nose. Pale brown head. Dark brown black color. Slightly sour malty and roasty taste. Some chocolate and hop bitterness. Warming alcohol. Some syrup and bittersweet chocolate too.

Draught at Oluthuone Leskinen, Oulu. Colour is black with small brown head. Aromas and flavours are bread, sweetness, dark chocolate and roasted malts. Alcohol is very well hidden.

Kaatuu lasiin sysimustana ja käytännössä vaahdottomana, sen jäädessä kuitenkin renkaaksi oluen pinnalle. Haju on paahteinen, vahvan hedelmäinen, suklainen, lakritsinen ja kahvinen. Maku on suklainen, kahvinen, lakritsinen, yrttinen, maitoinen ja hennon banaaninen sekä ananaksinen. Suutuntuma on täyteläisen katkera, mutta samalla se keikahtaa jo kitkerän puolelle. Kokonaisuutena tämä on valtavan hieno suomalaistuotos, tuoksun ollessa valloittava ja pehmeän hedelmäinen ja maun tasapainoinen. Suutuntuma on hieman kitkerä, joka hieman laskee pisteitä.

330ml bottle bought at Alko Helsinki Arkadia in feb. 2011 and stored properly in my cellar for nearly two years. Low brownish head dissipating over a jet black body. Fragile lacing. Aroma of herbal hops, liquorice, earthy malts and dark berries. Bread, wood, herbs, liquorice and berries spotted in the flavour character .Lingering mid-bitter berries to the finish, Masked alcohol. Rather flat on the swallow. Fine Juhlastout sipper on a Saturday night (Tromsø, 05.01.2013).

Sweet and tempting aroma. Darker than cola black with a thin brown head. Full body, lots of roastiness but not too bitter. Coffee, caramel, bread, syrup. The taste grows very big in a few seconds. Delicious.

Bottle many thanks to rosenbergh. Almost black color with tiny light brown head. Roasted aroma together with coffee, oat. dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, caramel, wood. Coffee bitter finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Tasty.

Black with no foam head, small brown one during pouring. Aroma is bitter cold coffee, taste is very bitter coffee no sweets. Medium long bitter aftertaste, nothing sweet at all, good bitter beer . (Helsinki 201211)
