Draught. Dark mahogany color. Tan head is thin and quite creamy. Caramel malty, toffy and dark fruity aroma. Some raisins, burnt sugar, a hint of nuts and grassy hops. Slightly vegetably finish. Dryish and somewhat nutty taste has creamy toffy notes in the finish. Medium bodied, softly carbonated texture and slightly sticy/woody bitter finish.

One more 500ml bottle from Finn, thanks mate. Fast disappearing beige head. Deep, dark brown body with a nice ruby shade. Plain roasted aroma. Roasted, almost burnt, caramel malt in flavour, herbal dryness and bitter anise to the finish. Does not feel thin at all. Comfortable and food friendly (shared with Frau Eva, Tromsø 11.12.2011).

A bit confused about this one. Strength is 4.1% and indicates the (retired) 2009 version. BB date is 15062012 with additional code 032618. Bought at Kilpishalli Dec. 11. Bottle 0,5l. Dark brown. Medium sized tanned head - lasting for a short time and disappearing completely. Low carbonation. Modest aroma with some caramel. Rather neutral in taste, too. Some spice after a while.

Rather typical aroma to Laitila beers with roasted, grainy malt and hints of liver and ash. Flavour has ash, tobacco, toffee and some roasted malt. Not as good as it was in 2009 even though the recipe should be the same.

courtesy of oh6gdx - clear dark brown colour with a poor head retention; gently toasted with buttery notes and hints of licorice; thin-bodied and with a low carbonation; quite harsh palate and sweet, some late tart and dry bitterness before a quite empty finish - very dubious

500 ml bottle. Rated @ 23.10.2009.
Pours a dark brown colour with a medium-sized foamy head. Aroma of burned malts and salty licorice. Flavour of mild caramel, mild hops and mild malts. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Mild on every aspect, but not bad.

Bottle. Dark brown with a medium off white head. The aroma is toasted caramel, chocolate, cereal and light fruit. The flavour is light metallic, light roasted with some fruity notes.
