3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Slightly sweet aroma, hints of fruit, candi sugar, and yeast. Pours a hazy orange, with a dusting of head on top. Very sweet tasting, with a touch of seeds of paradise/pepper in the finish. Touch of alcohol in the throat. Not bad, but not my preference of style.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - It’s back! One of the Lake Louie beers I missed back in the day has been rebrewed. Happy day! It’s hazy golden with a filmy white head. Nose is sweet candied pea, honey, Belgian yeast, and a sticky sweet bready malt. Taste is the same, with some clove spicing on the finish. It’s sweet but pretty well-balanced. Still...not my favorite style because of the sweetness and heat. Well done though--this is not a garbage interpretation of a tripel, but not as good as the classics.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
In the bottle from a shop in Holland MI. Pours a dark gold with a medium white head. Incredible lemon zest aroma with a great spiciness that evokes traditional medicinal notes for the style. The body is thick. Really good hoppiness with the quinine-like taste. This has a big sweetness- candy sugar sweetness. Nothing delicate about this beer. I think of it as a "Big Ugly American Belgian Tripel." Drink up.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle. Hazy golden orange, with a minimal bubbly head. Deep sweet aroma, some apricot and honey tones. A respectable beer, with some solid underlying bitterness. If this were to have the effervescent carbonation of a Belgian it would be world class stuff. The toasty malt, bitter hops, and yeasty sugary thickness are really well balanced. More bitterness than your typical Tripel for sure. Quite a nice beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
My first bottle of this year’s model is super hoppy - - a real surprise. Hop bittering almost like fresh tree bark predominates, set off by enough bright apricot candy spice to keep it out of pale ale territory, and keep it dancing. Will have to side-by-side it with Piraat.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: Pours a clear, light golden body with a small, white head.
Smell: Sweetish, honeysuckle nose with a hint of fruit and a clear, nostril-flaring waft of booze fumes.
Taste: Sweet, honeyed maltiness with a sip of fruity peach juice and cotton candy extract. Faintest spiciness. Even fainter bitterness. Coarse alcohol all the while. Pinch of dried herbs on the sweet finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: No thanks. Unnecessarily sweet and comes across as needless boozy. The lack of adequate carbonation really allows the unpleasantness to languish on the tongue.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear orange with a thin, quickly vanishing head. Aroma of spiced, rum-soaked raisins. Flavor leads with mixed spices, sweet, yeast is pleasantly funky, but carries a sulfury off note. Lemon zest on the finish.

From a 12oz bottle - Pours a clear pale color with small quickly dissipating head. Below average carbonation. Smells sweet with a nice bitter hop presence and yeasty notes. First sip is sweet and smooth with fruity hops and Belgian yeasts. Very nice, very drinkable. Excellent bitter finish.
