Bottled. Poured a deeper reddish-brown with a tall, lively cap of creamy beige head. Lovely hopped up aroma... pine, earth, and grassy notes on top of deeply-roasted cocoa and coffee. Flavor picked up about the same stuff.. body was fairly light and certainly refreshing. Cocoa was damn near burnt and a bit grainy on the palate. Hopped up cocoa finish. Really a solid effort that I could drink a whole bunch of.

phaleslu (6285) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 19, 2013
Draft at Greenbush Bar. Pours a cloudy brown color with an inch of foamy tan head. Notes of chocolate, nuts, and toast, and a really nice earthy hop character throughout. Exactly meets the description. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a soft, earthy mouthfeel. Nice take on their own porter.

Bottle:   Deep brown, cola hued edges, thin to moderate sudsy light beige head, spotty lacing.   Fairly assertive roasted malt aroma, resiny hops (minor), with a touch of coffee.   Similar tongue, a bit of bakers chocolate.   Slightly acrid tho.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes without the hops it started with, lingering roastiness.   Not bad, but seems pretty middle of the road.
