3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Originally reviewed: 12/25/09. Had a bottle of this at the Bodega in La Crosse, WI. Poured into a pint glass. Poured a dark amber with a thin off-white head on top. Little retention. Left some mild lace on the glass. Scents of light flowery hips, orange zest, and buttered toast. Body was crisp and full. This was fairly bitter right off the bat. Slightly harsh with a bit of a lingering aftertaste. Citrus wasn’t as pronounced, just plenty of bitter hops. This wouldn’t be a go-to IPA for me, but I’m glad I tried it.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a hazy peach-gold with a 2 finger, chunky, white head that has good retention and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is floral spicy, pine and citrus hops combined with sweet (Crystal) malt to give it a candy-like aroma. Flavor is sweet malt, grainy malt, caramel, lots more piney hops than in the aroma, bitter citrus and a pretty intense hop "bite" on the back of the palate, not all bitterness, but mostly the acidic, slightly astringent feel. Palate is light to medium bodied, creamy to neutral on entry, has a moderate strength, fairly strong carbonation and sharp, somewhat astringent finish. Not a bad IPA overall, if it had the hoppy aroma and flavor to fully back up that massive bite it could really be something awesome.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle with simon, poured a deep copper with monstrous white creamy head, half my glass was foam from a slow pour. Tons of carbonation. Aromas of peaches, apricots. light malt, pine. Not that strong smelling but dct. Taste is slightyl sour or a metallic hop taste with honey. Very bitter and dry. As it warmed more maltiness came out. Alright

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Heidel House Brewfest. Pale amber. Aroma is skunky pine/grapefruit with mild malt character. Flavor of moderate pine/grapefruit with some light caramel/toasted malt in the background. Fairly light and easy to drink. With a nice, almost citrus hop residual.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours clear gold with a huge white head...nice retention and lacing. Aroma is very mild with light citrus...orange...and earthy spice. Flavor is also a bit mild...decent bitterness with mild citrus. Mouthfeel is light/medium and the finish has an earthy bitterness...too light for my taste in IPAs. Drinks more like a pale ale.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Small white head with fair retention and lace. Lightly hazy gold hued ale. Nose is very tame. Light citrus, light malts. Body is light, low carbonation, lil metallic. Grainy malts greet you followed by tame citrus and pine notes, lightly metallic, astringent. Dry finish, uneventful.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours golden orange, almost no head. Slight haze. Nose is quite juicy: bits of grapefruit and clementine. Taste is much more subdued: light, tingling hops, effervescent citrus, hint of pine. Uncomplicated, unremarkable. Quite sessionable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy, copper orange color with a small tight beige head. Sweet, creamy roasted malt aroma with a light citrus touch. Strong pine and citrus flavors up front fading into creamy malt at the end and a long, dry finish. on the full end of medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel throughout and light carbonation. Really nice.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Thin white head and lacing on slightly cloudy dark amber. Aroma is grain, light swetness and light woody hops. Sweetish light woody flavor. Kind of plain in the IPA world.
