India Pale Ale: Old school version of an IPA. Still balanced; not a ‘one trick pony’ pale. Named after the country song “It’s hard to kiss the lips at night that chew your ass out all day long”.

Wow this IPA pale ale as hoppy with a fresh and floral aroma and may be my 3rd or 2nd favorite IPA as of 6-7-11 with New Glarus’ Moon Man and perhaps another beating it out. It has the richest, thickest, and creamiest large head of an IPA I’ve had so far. It is golden yellow, very hoppy, and smooth with a nice mellow yet pungently sharp IPA flavor like a fine cheese. This is a Wisconsin beer.

A little watered down, and a more malted IPA rather than refreshing and bitter

12 oz bottle poured into Shaker. Pours a clear gold with a medium off white head that disappears quickly. Medium carbonation. First taste has the small bitter taste of grapefruit that suddenly changes to hops. Leaves the hoppy tingle on the back of your tongue. Very standard IPA - tasty but doesn’t scream out in flavor. I’d drink more of it.

Bottle poured a clear amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of bread, earthiness and light pine. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, earthiness and a hint of pine with a crisp dry moderately bitter finish.

On tap at The Old Fashioned in Madison. Yellow with a decent white head. Aroma is of heavy honey, caramel, and light floral. Taste is of honey, light citrus, cream soda, and a light bitterness.

Pours an unclear medium orange amber. Small soapy white head. Aroma is grassy, soft pine, semi sweet citrus. Flavor follows. Quite hoppy. Grapefruit rind stands out. Solid bitterness. Lighter medium body. Doesn’t have a lot going exactly. Pretty good drinkability. I’d have another.

Golden pour with a lot of white head. Wheaty aroma, earthy. Very hoppy beer. Pretty good one. Had this in Madison, WI at the Old Fasioned Tavern, poured from draft part of a flight.

Draft. Moderate orange candy and lemon aroma. Taste is moderately bitter orange candy flavored bitterness pithy. For me it is a tad too sweet and need more hop flavor

Bottle. Hazy golden body with a frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, pineapple, pine. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Some floral and resin notes emerge in the taste, but mostly citrus in the form of grapefruit rind and bitter lemon peel.

Bottle into a tulip. Deep cloudy, brown gold with an ample tan head, rather large bubbles. Deep malty, molasses notes, some piney resin, lighter citrus, some floral notes. Bitter, quite tangy. Deep back of the mouth sweetness predominates through the finish. Hint of spice. Medium body, very acidic. Touch of carbonation, though the acidity keeps it lively. Reasonably clean, quite chewy. Decent.

Noticed the bottle date after getting home...6 months old. One word "butterscotch". It might be good fresh but I know it’s not now. Check the date.
