Enjoy it on tap at Hawk’s Bar & Grill on State St. Madison! Great seasonal brew for the cold winter months. Friend that works here has turned me onto it and it has turned into my favorite winter brew this winter. Which is off the beaten path of my Stouts and Mead.

12 ounce bottle pours an amber color with aromas of dark fruit, malt, light caramel, and some peat. Flavors are the same, lots of malt with some light peat and ripe dark fruit.

On tap at dexters, pours a clear copperish red with an off white head, the aroma is of huge sweetness with a ton of malt and a little bit of caramel mixed in as well, the flavor has a ton of sweet malt on the front end with the booze coming through in the finish, really needed to sip this one along, meh.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a two centimetre tall creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, tons of raisins and pit fruits, a bit of toffee and caramel and a little lighter fruitiness. Medium-bodied; Very fruity flavour with grapes, raisins, plums, prunes and a bit of malt noticeable coupled with some darker peat flavours and a hint of bitterness at the end. Aftertaste shows some rather sweet and slightly sour notes, but a little complexity with grapes coupled with peat - interesting. Overall, a pretty good scotch with less emphasis on caramel and more on pit fruits - but a very complex beer and a nice all-around flavour make this worth searching out for, especially if you aren’t from the area - as I am not. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Discount Liqour in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 05-September-2012 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 06-December-2012.

Pours a clear deep amber with no head. Aromas of smoked peat, malty goodness. Dear god, I hope this isn’t a sugar bomb. And... Thankfully it isn’t. Taste is dry wood, some smokiness along with a hop bite. Nice, actually. This is a beer I can enjoy. Hides the 9%abv really well. Good beer.

This pours a murky brownish-amber color with a pencil thin head on top. The aroma is a bit candy-like; picking up cherry, toffee, red plum, and twizzlers. It’s sweet going down and a little thinner than expected. The flavors are sweet caramel and toffee, that’s joined by some cherry cough drop, plum, leading to a somewhat prickly finish. Not bad but not something I entirely enjoyed either. Admittedly not one of my favorite styles.

Not worth seeking out. Caramel bomb. Tastes like a caramel candy with alcohol in the center ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks puzzl! Some sour cherry and cabernet aroma, wine barrel aged? Smells good to me. All of that leaves on the sip, and replaced by toasted marshmallow and burnt sweetness. Campfire smoke.

Pours an opaque brown with a medium tan head...lt sediment throughout. Aroma has roasty malt and a bit of spicy hops...some peaty notes. Flavor actually has some scotchy qualities...roasty with good bitterness and a woody note. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with a dry, earthy finish that has some tea notes.

Bottle poured a dark amber color with a thin coating of off white head. Aroma has caramel, dark fruit, malt, and sweetness. Mouth feel is medium and the carbonation on the low side. Flavor has dark fruit, malt, dark sugar, medium bitterness, nuts, and a bit of a bite on the finish. Big and malty but with plenty of sweetness.
