COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a smooth, full-bodied beer. A rich "nuts & berries" flavor followed by a coffee-like finish. Based on the traditional English Porter beers ofthe late 1800’s. Originally created for Irish immigrants working the shipping docks in England. They were a hard working lot who wanted a "stout" style brew with more alcohol content to drink during their all too short lunch breaks.

Dark brown pour with a light tan head. Aroma is roasty and has notes of chocolate and coffee. Flavor is a bit bitter and ashy, with roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Not bad.

Bottle... Poured black with a light tan head. Very dry porter with some decent roast. Some sugar cane, little bit of yeast flavor too. Foamy, thin body, lactose, coffee roast and chocolate.

For a Porter lover, this beer has everything you need. It has a nice, dark colored head and a smooth finish. It’s perfect for a Wisconsin winter night in.

Aroma is of roasted barley, nuts, and a wee bit of hops. It goes down super clean with a bit of sweetness and finishes with some smoke. Great offering from Tom!

Bottle: Pours a dark brown with a nice creamy beige head. decent retention, nice lacing as well. Crisp roasted aroma, mouthfeel is medium, i enjoy the creamy head. Flavors are a little muted. roasted coffee, very light chocolate, a touch of hop bitterness at the end.

8/12/10. 12oz bottle with big thanks to cbfobes! A rich brown pour that shines with reds when held the light. A fluffy tan head floats on top and remains as a ring and skin for quite awhile. The aroma is muted chocolate, toasted bread, and a definite fruity wine quality. The flavor is fruitier up front, again with hints of chocolate, and lingers with bitter roasted malts and just barely a hint of coffee.

want list bottle from dakine on 5/31/10. orange tinted porter brown capped by a small tan head. it smells like true creme fraiche... along with coffee, chocolate, wet wood, roast, peppery hops and butterscotch (in a good way). the flavor is the same... a little spicy and mildly bitter on the finish. medium body with sharp carbonation. 6/3/6/3/14/3.2

Huge creamy tan head rides atop black nectar. Nose is cocoa and malt. Very creamy on the palate with a big bold taste of carmel, malt, coffee and a hint of chocolate. Finishes with a slight hop flavor. An upper tier Porter that can accompany a wide variety of foods, especially deli sandwiches, burgers or brats.

Roasted grain, raisins, toffee, all that kind of thing going on in there, but yet, unlike some porters it was not too syrupy. I found the thinner body to be rather refreshing and a take on porter I haven’t had often. Hints of sour too? Serving: Draft

Bottle - Pours dark cola color with a huge foamy khaki head. Smells of dark chocolate and espresso, with good roast and just a touch of warmth. Taste has light smokiness to go with medium roast and a sweeter, lactic finish. A little thin in the mouth, with a little too much carbonation, but these are minor nits in an otherwise solid beer.
