This is a smooth, full-bodied beer. A rich "nuts & berries" flavor followed by a coffee-like finish. Based on the traditional English Porter beers ofthe late 1800ís. Originally created for Irish immigrants working the shipping docks in England. They were a hard working lot who wanted a "stout" style brew with more alcohol content to drink during their all too short lunch breaks.

12 oz bottle. Earthy, nutty aroma, not unpleasant. Had a slight tan head. Medium-to-thin mouthfeel. Robust malted flavor, with a very bitter nutty aftertaste. A good porter, one of the earthier ones Iíve had.

Draft. Opaque maroon color. Aroma of roasty coffee taste is fruity coffee grounds. Medium body. Very tasty.

Bottle from Woodmans in the Falls. Brown pour with a light brown head. Aroma has caramel and fruit and molasses-y old socks. Taste is of sweet caramel, some molasses, a bit of brown sugar and light earth. Medium bodied. Finishes sweet and earthy. Mix of a brown and a scotch ale, more than a porter, IMO. 12.8

"a nice, well balanced, no frills - but well made porter, courtesy of pfoxyjohn. 1st of 3 porters for the night. aroma is light, but nice...roasted malt, describable hop presence, with hints of chocolate, coffee, & smoke. medium bodied. dark brown with thin tan head. fairly flavorful. more smoke than in the aroma. smoke, chocolate and bittering hops in the finish."

Pours a dark brown with reddish hues when held up to light. The head is medium sized and leaves some lacing on the glass.

Man, the aroma is really sweet... lots of molasses & raisin. Itís got some roastiness, but geeze itís really raisiny.

The flavor is tart fruit, like to the point of sour. Itís nutty & has some coffee to it, itís got plenty of raisin, but man this comes across more as a sour. Itís not bad, it just took me totally off guard.

What a strange beer.

Pours a nice mahogany. Medium creamy khaki head, little lasting with dome lace. Aroma has a good amount of licorice, some caramel, faint dry light roasty chocolate. Flavor is mild hoppy, very light roast, more licorice, dry bitter coffee towards the end. Medium to full body. Very creamy. Feels good on the palate. Light bitterness. Light dryness. Good but not too exciting.

Attractive dark brown pour with tan head and little lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is chocolate , caramel, and some fruit. Has a pleasant roasted cocoa after taste. A sweeter porter, full bodied and drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had this in Madison, WI at the Old Fasioned Tavern, poured from draft part of a flight. Chocolate and cocoa taste. Creamy pallette. Smooth and good

12 oz. bottle that I purchase in Wisconsin during my recent roadtrip to Yellowstone. Pours very dark brown, just about black, with a thin-moderate tan head that is gone by the second sip and leaves no lace. The aroma is roasted malt with stale tobacco. The flavor continues the roasted malt and stale tobacco theme, but also includes a notable metallic twang. Medium bodied. Not worth finishing...and I didnít.

Bottle. Deep brown pour with reddish highlights. Minimal head. Roasted malt, nut, and some dark fruit sweetness. This is pretty enjoyable stuff.
