Poured into my pint glass the head is freakin enormus. It’s a rich caramel brown and after settling down it leaves a nice bit of lace on my glass. The beer is dark chocolate brown almost black. The aroma is fantastic. It smells like a glass of iced coffee.it has a sweet aroma as well with a hint of earthy malt that literally makes me smile. The flavor is very nice. Burnt chocolate malt, coffee and a mild hop bite. It has a full body that has plenty of carbonation and richness that really shines after warming a bit. This is a great example of what a porter should be. Another great WI beer that makes me proud.

Pours a nice mahogany. Medium creamy khaki head, little lasting with dome lace. Aroma has a good amount of licorice, some caramel, faint dry light roasty chocolate. Flavor is mild hoppy, very light roast, more licorice, dry bitter coffee towards the end. Medium to full body. Very creamy. Feels good on the palate. Light bitterness. Light dryness. Good but not too exciting.

Attractive dark brown pour with tan head and little lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is chocolate , caramel, and some fruit. Has a pleasant roasted cocoa after taste. A sweeter porter, full bodied and drinkable.

12 oz. bottle that I purchase in Wisconsin during my recent roadtrip to Yellowstone. Pours very dark brown, just about black, with a thin-moderate tan head that is gone by the second sip and leaves no lace. The aroma is roasted malt with stale tobacco. The flavor continues the roasted malt and stale tobacco theme, but also includes a notable metallic twang. Medium bodied. Not worth finishing...and I didn’t.

Bottle. Deep brown pour with reddish highlights. Minimal head. Roasted malt, nut, and some dark fruit sweetness. This is pretty enjoyable stuff.

Poured a nice dark brown with a light beige head and lacing. Aroma was malty and fruity with a twinge of sweetness. Taste was of roasted malts up front with slight inklings of coffee and cocoa. It finished with a light to moderate hop bitterness and a slight hay flavor. Palate was very good. Overall, a nice porter!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is heavy on the malt, but with hints of blackberries and stone fruit. A delicious malt flavor underneath the steady carbonation. Finish is medium to dry, with hints of coffee and a nice gravity. Liked it a lot, had on draft at the Weary Traveler in Madison, Wisconsin.

Lots of head. Unexpectedly fruity, very smooth. Finishes coffee. I had this a long time ago and could swear it used to have some soy sauce taste in it, but I don’t notice any this time. Solid average porter.
