COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the classic Scotch Ale style dating back to the 1700’s, with a deep reddish brown color. Full of body, sweetness and flavor. Higher in alcohol content but possessing a smooth and lightly hopped finish. Best served at 45 degrees F in a room temperature pint glass. For the ’Big Beer’ drinkers among us.

12oz bottle via trade with Duane - Thanks Duane! - Pours brown with a small tan head that fades pretty quick. Aroma is of caramel, smoke, alcohol, brown sugar, and a bit of peat. Flavor is smoky caramel with some brown sugar. Quite malty and earthy. Palate is medium bodied and fairly smooth to drink. Alcohol is covered pretty well. Not much carbonation. Pretty drinkable

Mid brown color, small head, soft malt nut aroma, though its sometimes hard to tell when they fill the pint right to the top, carmel malt taste with a touch of sweetness,a slight slickness to the mouthfeel. Very well done for this underated brewery

12 oz bottle. Maroon-walnut with a smallish flat tan head...nose lightly alcoholic, with cherry, peat smoke and apple making appearances, sweet...smooth, sugary, lightly smoky acerbic body, bit lactic, with touches of port and wood...moderate to full body, low carbonation. Not bad, but not taken with it either.

Sweet caramel malt and pear aroma. Deep brown murky color, with a creamy tan head. Heavily nutty flavor, with hazelnuts and pecans over cream and butter. Palate is wicking, almost immeadiately evaporating and dissapating, but for a Scottish Ale respectable. Unfortunately, at the end over the dry nutty smack a blast of stryofoam.

Ruddy brown opaque pour with a nice even head, slightly creamy in nature. Specks of yeast distort the ruddy color and detract from the overall appearance. The nose is pleasant with hints of apricot and pear, and the flavor is light and airy with a hint of nutty cheese and light coffee. The finish is slightly weak, as the alcohol feels as though it evaporates the lingering malts right off the tongue.

From the bottle showed little head, as is the style. Flavors that agree wth me, slight chocolate. Great body and mouth feel. Not too sweet to drink multiple servings, but high enough in alcohol not to drink too many. Have had it from the tap at The Shed (in Spring Green), and wish I could post a review while drink the tap. I’ll take notes next time. One of my favorite beers.

From the bottle. Scotch style ale. Pours with a weak head. Subtle aroma hints of roasted malt alcohol content apparent. Dark yet translucent with an appealing color. Strong roasty malt flavor without being too sweet. Strong finish. Medium body. Warms my stomach.

From a 12-oz. bottle, this pours a deep brown with amber edges. Small light tan head that disappears fairly quickly Appears to be clear though there ain’t much light making it through. Nothing big going on in the aroma. Caramel in the initial taste, followed up by a chocolatey-nutty taste and maybe a hint of plums. Very smooth & moderately carbonated mouthfeel. Nice!

Dark Brown/Red Tints Coloring with Sandy Ring. Sweet Malty Aroma and a Milky Mouthfeel. Sweet, Light Dry Milk Taste..Very Smooth and Bordering on Watery. For Drinkability This One Will Certainly Go Down Easy.

Thanks a lot for the sample, Duane. Poured with a thin khaki colored head and a dark amber body. The aroma was slightly smoky tobacco with some chocolate and peat. This showed a decently smoked beer. The taste had smoky peat with toffee and chocolate. Plenty of carbonation in the mouthfeel. Nicely done and one of the more smoky Scottish Ales I have tried.
