pours a rich ruby reddish brown with a frothy beige head. sweet aroma of malt and fruit. Taste is slightly sweet with a hint of bitter on the finish. A hint of strawberry? Tasty and easy drinking. Good beer!

Kind of tastes like puke, sour, and definitely not like any Scotch Ale I’ve ever had.

"nice full feel. big and smooth. fruity and malty, though a little short on smoke and aroma. overall, a little bit of a pleasant surprise. thanks John. 2nd time lots of astringency. Gotta doc it a tenth."

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Opaque dark, red brown color with an ample tan head. Smells of lightly spiced honey, some barnyard earthiness. Some light cereal, bready notes. Mainly sweet, but a lingering tinge of almost sourness, bitterness. Alcohol is reasonably present, medium to full bodied with some oiliness. Lighter carbonation. Pretty interesting beer, quite well done.

A big beer. Pours dark reddish brown with a lasting light tan head. Rich, malty, peaty flavor. Gets more flavorful as it warms up.

Shared bottle. Very solid beer. Candy sweetness and malty perhaps a little smoke or am I imagining? Brownish red in color. A bit thin but a very good beer nonetheless. Well done.

12 oz. bottle at my buddy’s rehearsal dinner at The Madison Club. Pours a clear reddish-brown with a finger-plus of creamy off-white head. The aroma and flavor are both pretty sugary and sweet. Toffee, cookie, sweet bread, toasted sugar, nuts, and dried fruits. Light-bodied, with soft medium-high carbonation and a malty, sweet mouthfeel. I’m normally a little higher on Lake Louie stuff. This isn’t my favorite of their offerings.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sweet for a scotch ale. Lots of hopping on the nose, but simply profiled as hop fruit, crystal malt, and a medium minerality.

Tap by app I’ll keep it short because I’m using my phone. Pours a deep amber not much head but a good Scottish ale. This has been my local tap beer of choice for a couple of years now.
