Pours with dark amber, burnt orange, copper colour and off-white, ecru-coloured foam. The aromatics are primarily citrus (grapefruit) with a subtle pine note. After the first scent, the malt aromatics come through – slight hint of toffee with some mild aromas of hay and straw. The body of the beer is roasted malts, dark toffee, a gentle molasses flavour and a touch of black licorice. The mouth feel is rounded and very dry. The finish is moderate-to-bold bitterness that lingers longer but is very pleasant. The finish is enveloping and builds with each sip.

473 ml can from a sampler four-pack from Sobeys, in a pilsner flute. Pours a bright, moderate amber hue with light carbonation and a puffy, milky head that retains well and leaves plenty of lacy lace. Aroma is a nice burst of citrus and piney hops, somewhere between fresh and dusty, with a small amount of floral that sits with the no-nonsense malt. Flavor is highly citrus, all grapefruit and lemon, with a soft astringency, and the sip ends like a lightly-sweetened iced tea, of all things. Thin-bodied, and the initial astringency keeps your mouth watering a few moments. Good, but it could be great with its rougher edges knocked off and the overall presentation freshened.

A minimalist white head on a clear golden body. Nose is caramel and tropical fruit. This is a nicely balanced, slightly understated IPA. Citrus and resiny hops, a splash of tropical fruit, dark caramel and sweet malt make up a clean, accessible taste profile. A medium/low carbonation level adds to the smoothness and creamy texture. Very drinkable.

pours unclear bright golden orange with a small white cap, some retention and lacing. toasted fruity maltiness, light specialty caramel, pine, spicy orange fruitiness - usual C’s, yet muted; pepper, absent and awkward estery-free yeast. moderate carbonation, light body - feels a tad watery; balanced spicy-citrusy-piney finish. old-school and cheaply crafted. another one of these jaded moments.

So boring! Light grainy malts, bland hop notes with a bit of floral and citrus. Easy and crisp with a refreshing flavour. But quite bland.

Can. The beer poured a translucent amber/red color with a 1" rocky tan head. Plenty of effervescence. The aroma is citrusy hops, spices, and grass. Not a lot of sweet malts. Mouthfeel is medium and medium carbonation. Flavor is kind of muted and blah....weak citrusy hops and weak malt.

Not a great IPA. Very syrupy caramel malt profile, some other malts and very lost hops.

Can pours a semi-hazy golden/orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel and toffee malt. Stale hops up front with stale malts, a pleasant potent hop bitterness hits on the finish. Nice finish at least.

pours a dark brown with thick white head. initial taste is VERY bitter that does even out a bit. will probably impress hop-heads, but I found the bitterness to be very unbalanced so I find it hard to consider this a top-tier IPA.

Tallboy can from LCBO in Ottawa. Nearly clear copper pour with foamy head. Aroma is nice - orange mango hops and bready malt. Taste trades nuanced hop flavor in aroma for mostly straight bitterness, which is big and lasts. Crisp bitter finish, also brings back the breadiness. Crisp solid IPA with nice aroma.
