3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 3, 2010 On tap at the Griffin Gastropub in Bracebridge. Poured a nice deep golden with a small white cap. The aroma has some nice hop presence to it that I wasn’t expecting, along with some decent pale malt aspects. Flavour hits with moderate hop flavour followed by some tasty grainy sweet malts. Finishes mildly bitter, nice crisp feel to it, I can kind of see what they were going for with this one. Really above my expectations for it and I hope the excessive ads for this brewery around the Muskoka’s pays off for them so they can brew some more interesting things.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
341ml bottle shared by biegaman with me and blankboy. Clear gold with a sticky white smallish head. Initially buttery aroma, smooths out to an interesting floral/perfume light hop and tart fruit / bready malt thing goin’ on. Taste - sort of floral, but man it tastes a lot like a tart strawberry/rhubarb pie, right down to the lardy flaky crust. Light body, a bit chewy, mildly acidic, almost stinging mouthfeel, finishes quick with a dry, slightly bitter aftertaste. Oddball beer, but I liked it, apart from that bit of buttery diacetyl off the top.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
341 ml bottle from the brewery. Stopped in at the brewery, looks awesome, a great set up. Definietly recommend stopping by if you’re at all in the area! Pours pale golden in colour, moderate white head. Mildly sweet and mildly hoppy aroma and taste. Good first beer for this new brewery, should be good for dinking on a hot summer day!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice easy drinking pale. biscuity malts and grassy nose, flavor is nice but needs more hop bite, well made but has a lot of catching up to do to get to black oak pale ale. But a good first beer, look forward to more

341ml Bottle: Headed up to see this brand new brewery in Muskoka. The building is impeccable, awesome cottage-style brewery boasting hard wood and new equipment everywhere you look. The beer pours golden coloured, thin carbonation, and a nice bubbly white head. Strong grain, straw-like aroma, slightly metallic with sour lemon notes. Nice sweet malt and grain flavour, biscuity, slight bittering hops there. For the style, it’s quite nice. Seems they’ve got some chops, interested in what comes next.
