Pours a nice dark almost black colour. Taste is rich and caramel-chocolaty with hints of sweet sugar form kilned malt. Very nice Porter.

(bottle) clear, dark brown colour with small tan head; aroma of roast, coffee; balanced, dry flavour, coffee is not overpowering like in many similar beers

A hard taste of smoked barbeque. There is little or no sourness in this porter, and the mocha taste a dead giveaway. It’s pretty decent - had it on tap. Been thinking about buying the bottle at licbo for a while but at ten bucks it’s fairly expensive...esp when trappist triples are going for six/seven bucks

Smokey mocha flavor, thinner body, bitter sweet. I like it. I have yet to find a beer from Lake of Bays that I didn’t like.

Pours black with moderate beige head. Phenomenal coffee aroma. Surprising light-bodied beer - coffee and chocolate flavors, slightly acidic. Coffee flavor lingers through the finish. Okay, easy-drinking beer.

(Rating #3968)

[cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest] Nice roasty aroma of coffee and vanilla and hazelnut. Almost opaque, dark brown with large bubbles. Slightly tangy mocha with a good bitter and chocolate balance, though a bit on the dry side. Light body, low carbonation, slight dark malt bitter finsh. Not amazing, but very good.

750 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in a snifter. Pours black with a small tan head. The head fades quickly to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are notes of coffee and roasted malts, along with a hint of herbal hops. The flavour is slightly dry throughout, with roast malts and coffee. There is a touch of herbal hops to provide balance. The finish is moderate in length and herbal, with coffee notes. On the palate, it is medium in body, with a dryish texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a fairly unremarkable coffee porter. Drinkable, but not exceptional. 2011-10-20

Bottle from LCBO #200. A deep chestnut/cola pour with one finger of sticky mocha froth. There is a lot of coffee in the nose, and it is complimented by an earthy dark chocolate alongside dried cocoa powder. About as sweet as 70-80% cocoa chocolate, with a lot of bitterness and similar dryness.Medium bodied, very creamy, dry finish with dark chocolate bitterness linger. Wonderful.

A deep dark brown porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a peaty chocolate, coffee grinds and wood extract. In mouth, a nice smooth porter with light peaty notes, grassy, a bit light bodied but nice. Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest Oct. 1 2011.
