Clear dark brown pour with large fluffy light tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and very faint hint of coffee and chocolate. Taste is very muted roasted malts and cocoa, not much flavor. Nice carbonation and mouthfeel though.

On tap at Imbibe. Slightly clear (light passes through it), with a big creamy head. Aroma of creamy coffee, with slight metallic hints. Taste is relatively smooth, roasty, with a clean watery finish. A distinct lack of chocolate taste, for something calling itself "mocha". Body is too thin.

Cask at Vankleek Hillís/Beauís Oktoberfest. Almost opaque, pitch black. Taste is chocolate, sweet cream and vanilla. Some black coffee bitterness in the finish. Light bodied. Somewhat heavily carbonated, for a cask conditioned porter...regardless, pretty decent.

750ml bottle. As you would expect from a coffee porter, the body is a deep brown, almost black; the head is big, fluffy and of an eye delightful mocha color; the retention is good, but the watery consistency does not leave much of lacing. Aroma is very hoppy at first, then thereís the coffee, the burned brown sugar, the spring water, prunes, and some bitter herbs. At the first sip, the taste is watery but with a good dose of roasted malt, than thereís coffee, brown sugar, hops, fresh spring water, some sourness. Iíd say itís a good coffee porter, at a level with Muskoka brews. Good.

The bodyís good enough and the coffee meshes well with the porter so Iím happy with it. Not jumping around but a little grin. Thatís all I could ask for I suppose. The head was quite beautiful. Coffee was mostly in the smell and slightly in the aftertaste, didnít carry a punch, but I guess thatís not what they were going for. Very good for a new brewery, looking forward to the future.
