2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Canned sample. Reddish brown in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Aromas are a blend of toffee, orchard fruit , and vanilla. Starts of a bit sticky in he mouth, with the caramel malts and apricot jam notes dominating. Manages to dry out on the back end with an over-steeped black tea like astringency. Medium bodied. A bit lacklustre overall.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This amber ale poured a deep red colour with next to no head. Scents include raspberries, malt, fruit juice and honey. First sip was slightly watery in consistency but had pretty good flavour. Flavours of hops, malt, leather and bread. Finish has medium hop flavour with cereal and toast on the side. Palate is mildly bitter with malty flavours.

Rating #814 - December 9, 2013 - Beer 8 from the Craft BeerAdvent Calendar - Bottle 5% Clear amber colour with a bubbly white head. Trie Aroma is caramel and hint of citrus. Taste is mild malty sweetness and a little earthy hoppy note, drying out the finish. Not noteworthy in any case, indistinguishable from larger production red ales (Keiths, Rickards, etc.)

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A browner beer than I expected, given that it is named House Red and is an Amber Ale. It had a very sweet smell that was intriguing. The taste was darker than I expected with chocolate overtones and a slight bitterness. It had a slightly unpleasant aftertaste but overall was an enjoyable ale.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rusty brown and clear with a big head that laces a lot. Aroma is light, but its mostly a light malt, slightly floral hops. Taste is a nutty malt base, with a medium bitterness and a watery palate. It’s a good amber, easy to drink a lot of this I’m sure.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
CBAC day 8.Pours a rusty brown with a nice frothy light brown head that leaves lots of lace. Aroma of caramel malts, nuts, chocolate and some earthy hops. Taste is caramel malts, toast, nuts, earthy hops and some light sweet chocolate. Not sure why there are so many bad ratings I don?t have any metallic off flavors and this is how an American red ale should be imo. Semi dry finish with a medium low bitterness, very refreshing and drinkable.
