Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement onctueuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de caramel en arrière goût. (Rating #5946)

Draft - Caramel and light grains. Clear copper with a nice beige head. Malty light cocoa and a rich finish. Nice but a little odd for an amber.

On tap at the Ottawa beer fest. A clear light gold with a soapy head & a earthy malty aroma. Medium-light bodied with a sweet somewhat sugary taste plus some grassy/earthy notes. A boring lager.

Pint on a nice sunny day. Clear amber pour with a medium light beige head that leaves good lacing. Malty heavy aroma, toffee, honey, bread. Taste is caramel, fairly mild hop bitterness. Medium body and carbonation. Quite a nice amber.

341ml bottle. Pours a crystal clear, caramel/amber with a one finger, off white head that laces well. Aroma has notes of caramel, bread, and a touch of fruityness. Perhaps an English yeast. Taste is balanced. Slight bread, caramel, a hint of hop spicy and chocolate/roast, and a short aftertaste. Medium body with a low-medium carbonation. Clean and refreshing in the mouth. Overall an easy drinking brew. Mild flavours that would probably not offend anyone.

Pour at the cottage off of Lake of Bays comes on yet another cloudy day. My goal tomorrow is to hit that cool little pizza place in Dorest & grab one of their fire tower pizzas & a can of crisp pilsner & have us a picnic. Wait, why am I writing about this in my beer rating? Cuz there’s nothing much going on here. Pours meh into the glass. It’s sweet & malty, with a suggestion of powdery chocolate. No worries, as I’m only going to drink 1/3 of this can before I stick it up the ass of a chicken & throw it onto the BBQ with another, more tasty brew in hand.

Pours a dark amber brown with an off white head. Toffee, brown toast and dark fruit aroma. Light body, medium carbonation. Light rum, caramel cake, some lemon, light metal on the finish... Not great.

473ml can. Pours clear, and the colour of raspberry juice, with a pale beige head. Aroma is malt heavy, with a light fruity note, cocoa, and light straw. As for taste, cocoa, dusty straw, and light acidity up front with some hard water/mineral notes, and light coffee in the mildly bitter finish. It’s not bad at all, but maybe a little more "brown ale" or "porter" in flavour profile then a "red".

Well, I ain’t even gonna be shy about it, I loved this beer. It has a pretty shitty rating but I loved it. I am still curious as to why ’Red Ale" is not a style and must be classified as an Amber when it clearly stands apart. Firstly, this brew is a pretty redhead, a rusted gold with a long lasting head. A wonderful bouquet of burnt toffee, barnyard, fresh bread and buckwheat honey awaits the nose. It is quite sweet and very malty, exactly how I like my reds unless they claim to be Red IPAs or some such hoppy style. Not too bubbly and smoothness like silk make it a pleasure to drink. I’d raise this pint any day.

I never would of thought this would score so low. Probably only the best Amber I have tasted and one of the better beers. Poured a beautiful rusted gold colour, I got lost just looking into my glass. Aroma was of toffee, leather, barn, and smoke. It tasted of honey, caramel, and toasty malts. Had a medium smooth body with low carbonation. It finished with a smooth honey after taste, that left me wanting more. A very great beer that stands out above other ambers.
