Bottle courtesy of Dany I believe, probably in payment for smuggling lizards into Canada for him. You have to tape those little guys in places no one wants to think about. Pours a deep browned ruby with a thin beige tan head. Sweet malt and a touch of chocolate on the nose. Medium bodied, chocolaty, sweet malt and cocoa. Easy drinking, soft malt, leading into a gentle bitterness on the finish. Good stuff.

Deep ruddy amber pour. The nose is lightly caramelly with a touch of woody/earthy hoppiness. Moderately hopped with a touch of caramel sweetness. Pretty well-balanced actually. Decent session brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

341 ml bottle. Pours brownish red in colour, moderate off white head. Nothing special here, a decent ale. Prob on the malty side of the balance beam. Not bad.

Nothing really special about this one. A nice balance but pretty plain. So by nice balance I’m not talking about two pianos on opposite ends of a see-saw perfectly cancelling out each others’ weight, more like a young giraffe walking. Toward the brown side of the amber scale.

red colour but not clear, so not overfiltered. aromas of caramel and slight roast. Classic. hoppy taste and bitter/roasty note as well. a very good session beer!

A really decent red. Smells like caramel roast malt and light hops. Steady foam that lasts through whole pint. Taste has a light sourness to it. Beer has a really dark maroon colour. On cask at Castro’s Lounge.

Bottle: Poured a medium brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma consists of light dry caramel malt with some light cereal notes. Taste is also a mix between some non-descript cereal notes with some dry caramel malt. Body is average with good carbonation. Middle of the road amber ale.

Cloak and Dagger, Toronto 20oz pour ($5): Pours a dark amber color with an ok lookin’ head. Aroma is caramel malt and some hops. Taste is mosly similar. Nice amount of bitterness for an amber ale. Good flavour profile in general I would say. Easily sessionable. Not too complex, but definitely better than the run-of-the-mill amber in my opinion.

not spectacular by any means, but a pretty good easy drinking beer with a hit of mild hops. pretty good for the style

Deep brown with a touch of red. Not much of a head and a very mild aroma of malts and vanilla. A nice roasted malt flavour that exits leaving a decent bit of hops that quickly leaves the tongue. The overall impression is a good one - a beer with a decent amount of flavour that is not overpowering in any one area and that finishes nice and clean. I’ll be buying it again.
