1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Tasting at Matt’s, can
Amber color, poor head. Grain aroma, not good. But this beer achieves phenomenal results with the flavor, grains bag, caramel, a bit sour, skunky.

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Dark brown-red colour. Not much head. Nothing but thin grains on the aroma. The taste is sort of this innocuous bland vaguely malty nonsense. Even by the standards of generic red ale, this is a waste of time.

1.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
500mL can, pours a dark red with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out sweet cereal malts, bready notes and a touch of sweet caramel. Flavour is quite nasty, with sickly sweet medicinal notes, vegetal notes, and bready malt. This is really terrible. What the fuck were they thinking? Disgusting.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A reddish brown ale with a thin lacing moka head. In aroma, pleasant nutty malt and floral hops, lightly resinous, chocolate notes. In mouth, a nice nutty and lightly peaty malt, with good hopping, more like a brown than a rousse....but very nice. Bottle from Probstk, thanks Karl.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft - Caramel and light grains. Clear copper with a nice beige head. Malty light cocoa and a rich finish. Nice but a little odd for an amber.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
2011-04-30. Crisp dark amber-brown body, nice creamy beige head and lace. Flavour has a grainy astringency to it that is echoed in the aroma, where a very dry malt character meets old roasty coffee. Light bitterness and mild toasty malt character in the flavour. Average palate. Pleasant toasty malt accents fail to redeem the grainy character of the malt for me. Just okay. Tap at Volo, Toronto

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle courtesy of Dany I believe, probably in payment for smuggling lizards into Canada for him. You have to tape those little guys in places no one wants to think about. Pours a deep browned ruby with a thin beige tan head. Sweet malt and a touch of chocolate on the nose. Medium bodied, chocolaty, sweet malt and cocoa. Easy drinking, soft malt, leading into a gentle bitterness on the finish. Good stuff.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep ruddy amber pour. The nose is lightly caramelly with a touch of woody/earthy hoppiness. Moderately hopped with a touch of caramel sweetness. Pretty well-balanced actually. Decent session brew.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
[3713-20110430] Tap. Very peanuty butter aroma has just a hint of used coffee grounds. Clear, dark amber red body with a quick foamy white head. Metallic peanuts flavour is mostly just generic grains. Medium body. Average. (6/3/6-/3/11) 2.9
