Celebrating the early Spring flowing of sap in Ontario’s maple trees, the 7% ABV ale is brewed with Belgian yeast, sweet malt, Noble hops and Ontario maple syrup. Notes of maple, hazelnut, vanilla and caramel compliment the amber hue, alongside aromas of cherry and spice. Caramelized apples and nutmeg are apparent in the finish.

Draught at Bar Hop. Clear gold with a lasting two finger fluffy white head. Sweet aroma, candy ish; taste is surprisingly and a bit unpleasantly boozy, but other than that this is sweet, lightly grainy and drinkable. Light body, mild carbonation and quick-finishing - a little harsh in the booziness, not much maple.

Not much head and it fADES fast. little small carbination bubbles and not many. Light-medium sweetness with a nice maple taste, then a basic ale with a yummy belgian yest taste. Medium bodied. Nice 7%. Nce beer for the warmer weather cheer’s.

Bottle - 750ml. Limpid golden body with average carbonation and a thin, fading white bubbly head. Malty aroma with bubble gum and some subtle maple hints. Its slightly misbalanced taste carries woody, maple, and some rotten herbs notes. Ends with a short, oversweetened finish. Disappointing.

Scent of maple, cinnamon, and yeast. Clear golden colour. Strong flavour of maple, spices, and hops. Subtle sweetness with bitter presence. Quite a tasty brew.

Unlike other Maple seasonals the Lake of Bays brew gives lovely aromas of Belgian yeast and the correct amount of maple. It isn’t an overpowering or over sugary concoction. The only problem is it makes you lust for bacon, pancakes and sausages as food pairings.

On tap. Clear amber with foamy head. Aroma pancake and maple syrup. Sweet banana wheat maple taste. Belgian spice in there too. Had this with brunch, and it is a perfect breakfast/brunch beer.

750ml bottle, golden color, with a small white head, with a smelly pop corn, faint sulfuric corny, awful wet wheay, pale, toasted malt, burnt maple syrup nose, with a faint vanilla, buttery, french toast accent in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, burnt metallic, harsh maple syrup, spicy vanilla, wet wheat, toasted, pale, smoky malt, nutty, milkyish sourness character, leading towards sweet corny, burnt maple syrup, wheaty maltiness finish. Something went wrong with this beer!

Cloudy, darker yellow colour. The aroma is a bad mix of esters and smoked maple. Not pleasing. It almost has this milk and sugar aroma that is not nice. On the palate it is much better. there is a certain bitterness in this medium bodied brew that makes it more drying than i expected from the aroma. Overall however, not gonna be buying this one again.

[bottle--thanks, Katey!] Sweet pineapple and maple aroma with some faint caramel and a slight, lagery sulfur note. Clear gold under a white ring. Sweet maple flavour with some peppery phenolics and then some tangerine. Ethanol sweetness in counterpoint to tropical fruit accents are not balanced by the very low bitterness. Candy notes together with more maple as the beer warms. Medium body, moderate carbonation, sweet finish.

UPDATED: JUN 29, 2013 I didn’t think it was that bad. I enjoyed it enough only down side is that it was over priced in Ontario available at LCBO. Muskoka Oddity Belgian style beer was on shelves at LCBO at the same time for about the same price, it is more worth your money.
