Lake Placid Flanders Brown

Growler purchased at the Plattsburgh, NY brewery. I called the Lake Placid Brewery for the style and description. A light brown/dark amber pour with little off white head. Clear pour. Caramel malt aroma with hints of banana. This may need to be reclassified as a belgian ale. Somewhat typical belgian ale type yeastly flavors to start. Banana mostly present along with some caramel sweetness. The middle is lacking and the finish is heavily marked by burnt malt bitterness. Rather unpleasant finish. Once the bitterness fades, I catch a faint sweetness. Interesting beer, thinnish mouthfeel, really unclear where to include this beer as far as style.
