muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 31, 2007 6 ounce draught sample at the Vermont Brewer’s Fest (July 2007). Opaque bright gold with just a bit of head....assertive, dry, spicy aroma with light clove and banana but mostly lots of fresh bready wheat tartness....the body is quite full and thickly malty, even heavy at first but at the same time the wheaty sourness refreshes, the banana-bread character is fulfilling and the lightly tart-berry notes at the finish are lovely....I don’t know what I got out of this that everybody else didn’t, but this was really a pleasant surprise for me. Well done! JoeMcPhee (3643), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 28, 2007 Vermont Brewers Fest ’07. Pale yellow/cloudy beer. Soapy aroma up front. Light spice and a bit of peach but no banana character. Heavily carbonated with very faint light clove. A bit of wheatiness. Thin/gassy beer with more soapy flavour on the back. Meh. A definite low point on the days tastings. jcwattsrugger (3757), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Aug 23, 2006 on tap-pours a white head that laces with cloudy yellow color. Aroma is wheat, clove. Taste is wheat, citrus, clove, syrup. Glouglouburp (1876), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 27, 2006 Updated: Jul 10, 2008Cloudy yellow with a long-lasting big creamy white head. The nose is barn/leather, banana & pils hops. Nice round body with a fruity (banana and more) and sweet taste. Yeast character is a bit cheesy. Tasting sample at Burlington beer fest 2006. Average hefe, more like a hill top than a high peak. willblake (1919), Long Branch, New Jersey, USA Jul 21, 2005 07.13.05 Tap at brewpub. Murky, clouded orange-gold. Ample froth. Light banana, heavier clove, little citrus. Reminds of Weihenstephan but even fuller bodied. Very nice on a 90 degree day in a town with no AC.
