Bottle. Label says "Lake Placid Craft Brewing Hefeweizen Wheat Ale", no "High Peaks". Beer of the month club. Cloudy dark orange color with a medium white head. A somewhat restrained aroma of wheat, fruity esters, bubblegum notes, light graininess and some yeast. Sweetish wheaty fruity flavor with light acidicty. Medium-bodied. OK.

Vermont Brewers Fest ’07. Pale yellow/cloudy beer. Soapy aroma up front. Light spice and a bit of peach but no banana character. Heavily carbonated with very faint light clove. A bit of wheatiness. Thin/gassy beer with more soapy flavour on the back. Meh. A definite low point on the days tastings.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a large white head. Soft musky wheat, sweet notes of wheat and caramel. Sweet wheat, a little thin, very light citrus notes. Soft and wheaty on the finish, gentle musk. Easy drinking and inoffensive, but not a ton going on.

9/23/11. 12oz bottle courtesy Cavie! Hazy orange pour with a small khaki head that fades to a ring that laces a teensy bit. Slight citrus notes in the aroma with definite phenolics and a touch of creamy banana. Lightish flavor, plenty of wheaty citrus tang, a bit of creamy banana, and less phenolics than the aroma. Not bad, but a bit light, and not as creamy or complex as my favorite Germans.

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2011 Bottle 355 ml at brew pub
Aroma strong banana character with sweet malty base. Clear, fresh and pleasant. 7+
Appearance mid haze on amber with medium plus sized white top.3+
Flavor and Palate : medium bodied. Grainy , sweet with plenty of clove that was bit harsh (almost sour in feel). Slight cellar smoky feel followed. Aroma promised much more harmonious rounded wheat character than flavor did.
