checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 30, 2009 Bottle: Poured a brownish amber with a nice head. The aroma was pine, floral, and grapefruit. The flavor was slight citrus, some spice, and piney hops. Overall, surprisingly tasty. argo0 (6842), Washington DC, USA Oct 1, 2009 12oz bottle. Small beige head that leaves nice lacing atop murky copper body. Aroma is medium sweet, floral/pine, some caramel, orange, light peach. Taste is moderately sweet, pine, floral/orange, caramel, light toffee. Smooth medium body, resin, light effervescence. pete4999 (120), Buffalo, New York, USA Sep 10, 2009 Bottle, brown pour, nice long-lasting off-white head. Definitely doesn’t look like most IPAs....a more brown look and sense to it. A piney scent is strong here....earthy IPA aromas. Slightly sweet, slightly bitter...not a huge hop blast, but a good balance of sweet, caramel-type notes and hoppy bite. This tastes different from most IPAs that I’ve had, but it’s quite good. areyouinning (72), North Carolina, USA Sep 9, 2009 Sweet aroma with malt, hops and spice. Good mouthfeel and viscosity. Spicy, flowery taste. TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Sep 8, 2009 Bottle shared by OSCF. Thanks Todd! Pours hazy orange. Nose of grapefruit and pine. Flavor is dirty and earthy hops with a strong sweet malt presence. Meh. durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA Sep 3, 2009 Bottle shared by Dave. Pours hazy orange/amber with whitish head. Sweet malty version of the style. Decent citrus, but not enough. Perhaps a bit old? Palate not too exciting, either. bobman006 (38), New Jersey, USA Sep 2, 2009 Bottle. Hazy copper-orange pour with small tight head. Aromas of grass and citrus. Taste is bready with grapefruit, orange, and caramel. Very well balanced, good mouthfeel, and great hoppage. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 1, 2009 Shared by ucusty I believe. Pours a cloudy amber orange with a one finger offwhite head. The aroma is sweet, citrusy, malty. Flavor is flat and oxidized, lacks hop flavor, sweet malt profile. Flat on the palate.
